It was a tough parcours with Cauberg etc. And uphill sprint finish. I have no idea how Cavendish pulled it off but this is respectable ;-)

He couldn't be turning into a Kelly type rider could he? You don't have to answer!

what i told you?

cav will produce some epic racing this year.i expect him to lose most of the sprints in le tour,i find difficult to happen to produce those huge number of watts with so much weight lost.kittel and greipel will get him
but he might win the worlds, that's for sure.and he will help bradley a little bit in the mountains why not?

Sure, he will again outsprint the noted climber Nizzolo there.

You do know the sprint was about 10% uphill?

Yes, but you do remember he lost to Kittel, Greipel and Renshaw in the 2 previous stages right?

There's not one good uphill sprinter in this race though, so let's not glorify this.

Sure, but it's the Ster ZLM Tour, not the Tour de France, and the team he has here is wildly different too

Well it's his first race from Giro, while Greipel was racing those '**** small races; ( :p ) better form and better racing legs for sprints, imho.

Yep, and Tour is getting very close. Sprinters don't normally need a lot of form to win a sprint. Better form makes sure they make it fresh to the finish line. Something Cav does not have a problem with at this race I would think.

ANyone know what's up with Renshaw's helmet from stages 1 & 2? It's like a Troxel of old...

Is he trying to play the marginal gains game?

Finally, Cav shows his real colors this year. He won't win that many bunch sprints this year as in other years, but he's going to do well at the London olympics. He'll be back next year for the bunch sprints.

Fantastic ride by Cav (and by Boom, obviously). He'll be a good gregario for Wiggo in the mountains.

Cavendish suddenly learning how to climb just a little over a month before the olympics in his home country...wonder how that happened
