Mohoric was the only one able to take that final descent as well as Pidcock and got a gap on the other chasers. Unfortunately he blew up which perhaps indicates how hard the race was? After that, the composition of the group took care of the rest,

That was one of the more dysfunctional chase groups I’ve seen in a while.

Rui Costa was there, the most annoying (or clever) rider to have in any sort of group. People blame the Jumbo guys, probably rightly so, but at least they tried a few times. Rui Costa was the one out there protecting the gap for Pidcock.
