I am so excited. Is it really happening? This could be the best cycling 6 months of our lives.
I like Strade so much. And this time with so many top riders hungry for riding it will be fun.

Hmmm, Strade is definitely happening but I fear that tomorrow could be the best cycling day of the year, so better enjoy it.

I'm gonna enjoy this one as much as possible. Because to be honest I don't expect much races to be raced. The 2nd wave is coming,..

I'd prefer a 2nd impact...
The situation is actually a lot better in Italy compared to many other countries, but the trend seems to be going in that direction...

how much climbing? +3.000m? 3.500?
Whatever the actual amount of meters, you need to add to that figure to account for the extra workload riding on the strade/gravel. I’m always impressed with how much the race breaks open on those stretches, even if there’s not been an all-out attack.

Oh yes! Its certainly have been a while. I have not seen any racing this year. I will pick MVDP to win it but closely. The lineup is impressive. Bring it on.

Alaphilippe said he isn't in top shape (his real goals are later this summer). If that's true, that means (for me) there is no real standout favorite.

Alaphilippe does check all those boxes.

And I'd totally go with Alaphilippe if it wasn't for his timing, which I believe to be true, and my thinking that specific training and peaking is crucial for him.
I need an in-form Alaphilippe-clone.

Six Danes will start, five of them are in with a shot of the victory.

Fuglsang was second last year, and has been one of the best riders in the world the last year and a half. The race suits him too.

Søren Kragh was third in Omloop and won the TT in Paris-Nice where he also climbed well and made a fabulous attack on the penultimate day. He might be below previous winner Benoot in the internal pecking order but he has his spring form, he should be good tomorrow.

Kasper Asgreen won Kuurne solo, and he is just crazy strong. I wouldn't put anything past him even if I don't think Strade fits him perfectly.

Michael Valgren didn't impress much early season, and I don't expect too much from him, but if he can refind his 2018 level, he could be having a good day.

And then we have Magnus Cort. He has only ridden the race once before, and a 34th place in his debut season doesn't do justice to the performance he put in back then. I think a lot of Danes got quite big eyes when the almost final selection was made, and Cort found himself in a nine-man group with Sagan, Stybar, Cancellara, Van Avermaet, Valverde, Vanmarcke, Rosa and one final rider I don't remember. Of course he then cracked, but the past few seasons he has been stronger and stronger. Strade is not a race where it's all about position which is his weakness, so I think it suits him really well. I'm getting more and more convinced that if he is in top shape, he could really do something good tomorrow.

Asgreen could do very well here i think. He can definitely climb well enough to make the final (as seen in California) and he should also be among those who get over the dirt roads easily, imho.

Fuglsang has an MTB background. Other than that, WvA and MvdP are a bit too heavy to really fit your description. Teuns on the other hand doesn't have a CX background as far as i know.

You'll have to pick one, man. Beggars can't be choosers!

Six Danes! (Sounds like a film title.)
How are Danes coping with heat? Have you adjusted to climate change, yet?

He doesn't exist. He's a myth generated by the Dutch CN maffia. The greatest trick the Dutch ever pulled, was to convince the world they had a worldclass rider... or something along those lines!
They borrowed a Franco - Belge locomotive for the purpose.

I agree with the opinions that the temperature difference should somewhat reshape the landscape of the field.
With more shade, though.

Wow... just read that Blick article (it's a bit like the Daily Mail, isn't it... well, anyway...) I can understand he's angry and disappointed and maybe it was even a false positive, but if he said those things he also seems to lack some basic medical knowledge - I feel absolutely healthy, therefor I can't transmit the virus?

Having said that, he's "stinksauer". I think i just found a new favorite word.

Anyone else feeling like it is Christmas today? :p

I love Strade Bianche, it's one of my favorite races.

And as a Dane, with Fuglsang, Asgreen, Kragh, Valgren & Cort all lined up, with fair to good chances of being in the finale, I have high hopes.

- Oh, and screw RCS for not having TV production until 16.00 CET tomorrow :rage:
Exactly same feelings. It is like start of summer holiday when I was a small kid.
If all races will be ridden it could become the longest and the most exciting " holiday " of my life.
And although Sagan is not riding the G-W, RVV, PR .... , nor he is automatic top favourite of each race he enter I am pretty fine with that. New generation came and these fights between new and old boys can be epic.
As far as the TV streaming is concerned, I do not understand Italians. It should be streamed one hour before the race. So many interesting interviews could be done. They were granted privilege of the first important race of "Corona season" and they do not care.
If tomorrow is RVV I am prety sure it is "false" state holiday there and Belgian TVs start streaming from 8 AM. :)
I still can not immagine how do rhey want to secure anticorona measurements there. IMPOSSIBLE.
