Not sure the Tour had an obviously positive/negative effect on any of the favourites, which is good. Tarling might have finished 10-12s behind or so? Neither Ganna nor Tarling looked particularly comfortable on the corners, tbh.
Tbf, it's not like Evenepoel is a cornering specialist. But yeah, maybe using the new TT-bike with these conditions wasn't the best call.
Ganna and Evenepoel in another League on the final part of the TT.

Does this mean that if Pog and Vinge were here, they would take 1st and 2nd? We shall never know.

It's not a good route for Jonas.

And the God King mercifully skipped the Olympics this time just to make his minion Remco happy. 😁

No but Remco did actually take some good time there, and Ganna's final corner was painful to watch. Evenepoel better overall, anyway, but I think that the wet roads put WvA closer to Ganna than he would've been on a dry race.

Tarling lost about 30 secs with the puncture and bike change ...pity for him

Would have possibly gold if he hadnt lost that time

Congrats to Evenepoel on the Olympic Gold medal. Well done by the bullet-man, he looked great on the bike. He clearly managed to carry on his TdF form and overcome fatigue. Also congrats to other top guys: Ganna, Wout and Tarling, it was a close battle. Josh very unlucky with losing time due to a bike change, he clearly lost a medal and would've likely been 2nd here. Good that at least Remco has enough buffer to stop "what if" discussions.

Plapp looked in a bad way after his crash. It's a pity because he had a top 5 or top 6 in the offing. And will he be right for the RR

About 20 seconds the mechanical seems to have cost looking back, given his acceleration isn't the best.

Gonna pen a letter to Thomas Bach now urging the need to update the world medal table with an asterisk next to the silvers.

How much you gonna put in there in cash? Or do you happen to speak German? I think that are the only two languages he respects.
