I wasn't offended, I'm not such a big fan to be insulted by comments like that, whether joking or serious. He did mention having knee problems before the race. but he said he was ok. I hope it's a mechanical, bad luck doesn't last forever, but an injury could last a while.

I don't believe anybody can take more than 1 1/2 minute in 20 k on Cancellara in a race like this. On flat road by an organised chase by sprinter, but not like this. Barring accidents of cause. He could go cold, but I don't think it's likely from Cancellara.

One moment of inattentiveness and the race was decided. One moment where he sat in the back, maybe hubris after those pulls on the cobbles and that little tap on Cancellara's shoulder. Stretched himself, overlooking the field like Caesar, seeing it was a good day...

And Spartacus was gone.
