the guy is a nutcase on how much he trained to reach this level.

I would say more, but it would be for another thread in another section of the forum...

Back to the TdS, I think that a lot will depend on Fuglsang's abilities as the key RSN domestique. I thought he was not that bad yesterday. If Frank gets the prefect set-up, he might be able to take this. Off course, barring crashes, flats, getting a sore throat, missing his brother too much and having to abandon, etc...

also can rui costa take one minute back on the descent of glaubenberg?
if he looks like yesterday though on the climb he will lose much more

i'd still cheer for him to keep yellow

I agree, if Rabo and RSNT do their best, put a few RSNT, especially Fuglsang on the front and put NL postal on the front, like yesterday, hopefully today with the help of Mollema, they should be able to kill Costa on the penultimate climb; Frank and Gesink can then battle it out on the Sorenberg. It's probably best for both teams.

They quite simply need to go full out at the foot of the Glaubenberg. Then ATTACK (so you have an elite group of 4/5). And put as much distance on Costa as possible before the descent.

If Costa is at 2 minutes at the top it's over. If he is there at the Sörenberg I say he will win the TdS because that climb is clearly not hard enough

The one most benefitting from a hard race would be Nieve. If the race is opened early, I wouldn't count him out.

The 5 riders: Kangert (AST), Bookwalter (BMC), Boeckmans (VCD), Montaguti (ALM) and Roy (FDJ)

Kangert to help Kreuziger through the valley, Bookwalter for Frank, Montaguti for Roche, Roy for Pinot and Boeckmans 'cos Vacansoleil must be in every break in every WorldTour race if humanly possible.

well considering he said bookwalter it should be obvious ;)
I doubt that is why bookwalter is there tho. to keep that 15th place safe?

Yes I already thought so but because Frank is 15th it seemed a bit weird so I thought that maybe that poster made a mistake and meant Frankie Schleck.

The Bad *** Matthias One.

Looks like an interesting break, might spice things up if someone decides to attack from far out.
I think the favorite's team are now going to prevent "attack from far" from this point on and just let the break build time for quite awhile. I bet Radioshark is tired today

is there a profile of the final climb?

as far as I can tell it is very easy.

From climbbybike.com: here is profile of Glaubenbielen, finish is at Sörenberg.

This is not the "tourmalet " by any means, I expect the teams to keep their domestics at the front and push the pace without troubles

1 km at 8,5% is enough for frank to take 14 sec back if rui costa has the same day as yesterday.his biggest problem will be glaubenberg though

i'm curious if albasini will attack on glaubenbielen.he's in crazy form and he shouldn't waste it.

*triple facepalm*
There's a reason albasini was at 9 minutes pre-yesterday. He lost a lot of time on Verbier and yesterday he lost 2 minutes on 4 steep km as well.
He's not exactly a hc climber

to you anyone who finishes a long attack in a mountain stage is suddenly a hc climber. You probably think Rabottini will destroy entire fields as well ;)

now i'm even 100% sure that albasini will eat up glaubenbielen pass and then on the descent he will have a nice gap. hopp hopp albasini!!

This is almost going to be a bunch sprint.. A bit disappointed with that finish tbh. Looks so soft. Sagan could even take this if the break is caught. Unless they go full gas at Glaubenberg, obviously.

hmmm pretty disappointing finish. I guess the last 5km could be enough in theory.
it'll be a disappointing finish if they softpedal the last HC climb. As usual, the riders decide.
