So can we hope that Neive and/or Kreuziger will go "bananas" on Glaubenberg? They are about 40 seconds behind Costa and 20 seconds from podium. Niether of them are buildning for the tour, they didn't performe as well as they wanted in the Giro, so logically they are looking for a good result in TdS.

Nieve looked strong yesterday, Kreuziger so-so.

Hoping for fireworks! :)

Considering that Rui was weak yesterday I believe Gesink, Nieve and Schleck will try to put him under pressure which may result into very good racing I suspect.

would be a "deja vu" of Andy Hempstein win in 1986 and 1987.. didn't he win by 1 second also?

It would be mostly a deja vu to last year where Leipheimer beat Cunego by 4 seconds

Yeah, Swiss commentators yesterday also mentioned that Hampsten in 1987 or 88 was closest, with 1 second ahead...

But as I remember, Ullrich also beat Jeker by 1 second in 2004 in the GC? ...

) LOL )It has to be the Swiss watches they use.. Anywhere else the marging would have to be calculated in minutes.

So actually the Soerenberg finish is/was the run in to the first HC climb of the day, the Glaubenbielen (right after the first cat 2 climb).
