Exactly my thoughts as well. He will always target the TDF every year. If he always lives in the fear that a crash in Roubaix could derail the TDF or the whole season, then he might as well just skip Roubaix for the rest of his career. There will always be risks when he rides Roubaix. If he truly wants to try it this year, he should just go for it.Thing is though, Gianetti’s reasoning is “you could crash and miss TDF,” but if Pog applies that each season, he will never go PR.
Hopefully he goes this year.
Gianetti can gtfo and stop trying to ruin cycling
If they nuke it like Alpecin did last year the fight for position will be a lot less stressfulPR is too risky for everybody. I hope he races it and just let UAE to destroy the field very early in the race
Exactly! Arenberg with that chicane is way less dangerous too so he must race it!If they nuke it like Alpecin did last year the fight for position will be a lot less stressful
Maybe he wants to win against MVDP at PR, just like Ronde. He wants that challenge. I believe everybody would want to see it at least once, when they are both still at their best.Pogačar could wait to ride Roubaix until he has 5 Tour wins however by then his legs may not be the same as they are now.
Given that he doesn’t ride the Giro this year I think this is a good year to try it.

This joke hits several layers all at once. Good job.Afterall the real bald fraud is Gianetti!
Oh, I didn't see any news about it so I thought they would keep it.I think they are removing the chicane this year.
I think it was an emergency decision after the crashes last year, so it wasn't meant to stay.Oh, I didn't see any news about it so I thought they would keep it.
Think they take another way in this year. The one that was suggested here before the race actually.I think it was an emergency decision after the crashes last year, so it wasn't meant to stay.

I understand his point but one day Pogacar will have to race PR. I can see him racing the Tour until he is 32 years old (at least) in order to win it so he can't wait until there to start in PR.What is this ginaneti talking about? Wasn't the cobble stage in tdf 2022 more stressful than roubaix? With all the gc teams it was more stressful in the tour and what did pog do that day🤔
I agree. The competitor in him would not value the race win as much if it came after MVDP has k on largely moved away from road racing.Maybe he wants to win against MVDP at PR, just like Ronde. He wants that challenge. I believe everybody would want to see it at least once, when they are both still at their best.
They needed more time to have the road ready for the new solution:I think they are removing the chicane this year.
Those two 90 degrees turns just look far more dangerous than straight on at high speed to me as the battle for position will be even more intense. They needed more time to have the road ready for the new solution:

I'm not sure. It wasn't bad last year, if anything it was a major success. Those two 90 degrees turns just look far more dangerous than straight on at high speed to me as the battle for position will be even more intense.
I think they were extremely lucky though with how thinned out the peloton already was. We never saw how that chicane plays out for a more or less complete peloton.I'm not sure. It wasn't bad last year, if anything it was a major success.
