I don't think so. Pogi muss try something else on those races, where he is clear favorite. UAE Tour and Strade were perfect to just sit and wait. He knows he can win with attack 80-100km from finish, but why? He showed us, he can do it but his goals are MSR /Flanders maybe P-R so those solo attacks are uselles for trying something new. I think he is still not at his best and wants to peak at MSR, Flanders/PR .Without crash that would be really perfect win.
I think he would attack with 45 km to go and probably win with a 2 minutes gap.

One thing i fear if anything is going forward his confidence in the classics like for cipressa and poggio descent and the fight for positioning for the Belgium bergs might get a bit down after a crash like yesterday and such a factor could be crucial in deciding the race but physique wise he will be in top form for the coming races
Don't know if I'm alone in this, but for me it has been building up, possibly all the way back to the finish of 23 TdF. Pogi has been looking good on descents and have been pushing it. There haven't really been any consequences for him when taking it to the limit all the time, but at some point most riders go down riding like that. Even Pidcock when down last year. Don't know if we will see a reaction from him after this, possibly the effects weren't hard enough to really change anything.

Even a GOAT can get the "Beautiful Wife Syndrome".

I think that the corner where he crashed was just easy to misjudge perhaps. Went into it too fast. He was not alone to crash there yesterday. I heard it had happened in the womens race as well. Kwiatkowski crashed there.

Maybe the asphalt wasnt clean. The turn or the road could have been a bit wrongly composed/dosed (I dont know the term in english for what I mean).

It is just a reminder that this sport can be cruel and is dangerous. How quickly things can change. You cant take anything for granted as multiple people had done leading up to this race.

It was incredible to be able to race on after hitting the deck that hard. One of his greatest performances and there sure are many of them.

When riding to the edge of your ability "easy to misjudge" has a much higher risk of putting you on ass and elbows in the ditch.

Totally agree. He needs to be very confident in his descending skills going to San Remo. RVV I don't believe to be honest.

After seeing the race again. It is almost certain (in my eyes) that Pogacar didn't drop Pidcock to have a partner to help him for more 30 km before his attack in Colle Pinzuto (the first time they climbed yesterday). Unfortunately he crashed so he had to recover 40 seconds and then waited for Pinzuto again to drop Pidcock. He gained a lot in 18 km to Pidcock, specially after his nasty crash. Maybe I'm misjudging a little bit how the race went, but if Pogacar hadn't crashed hard, he would probably win with a gap similar to last year.

"I thought of attacking the first time up Colle Pinzuto but the crash stopped that."
Yup, that was his plan after Pidcock could follow him in Sante Marie... which was actually good as he didnt have to ride on his own for so long. Especially, if he was confident he could drop him later.

Crash almost ruined everything and could have been really bad, but he was lucky. He could continue, even if he got hurt. Strong comeback and performance.

That he was able to finish the race and stay with pidcock on descents was a blessing and possibly the mental reset he needed.
