Roglic is not attempting Giro-Tour, he is trying to win the Giro because he is too far behind Vingegaard and Pogacar. He had by far the best preparation last year and still was miles behind in every mountain/hilly stage.
You mean the Tour where he was crashed out by some douche' jumping a median...that one?
I recall him dieselling a serious climb, Pogi had dropped Jonas and Roglic went through Remco and Jonas on the descent. Not miles, not behind. Pogacar; that's a different story.

I agree he will be trying to win the Giro. If he's intact after that we'll see what Jonas can do for 3 weeks. Last time around he couldn't manage it. Remco is also in recovery mode and only the blind faithful will suggest he'll be fighting it out at this point in time.
Pogacar is dominant in not losing months of time to injuries. The rest of these guys have lost a season or two for recovery; so let's factor that into the fan's shallow reality of today's actual competitors.

Roglic is miles behind Jonas right now. Last year, he was dropped in a climb tailormade for him (San Luca). Galibier the same, gravel stage, etc. I'm not underestimating Roglic at all, he still is the third best GT rider in the world (even if Remco seemed stronger in the Tour) but there is a massive gap between Roglic and Vingegaard/Pogacar.

Three great tp races were in losses. Tragic and heroic all at once. 2023 WC, 2025 MSR. 2025 P-R

Also like the odd race where tp and Novak hide in bushes and charged back up on the peloton from behind
His participation in Glasgow was tough to watch. He was suffering to follow Pedersen and WVA in climbs, very far from his best shape. Maybe he was competitive only because it was raining a lot.
