I don't believe. What UAE did in the Dauphiné, Visma would be able to do even better if they had a leader like Pogacar.ATM i would say UAE had the edge, Visma can of course prove me wrong.
TBH one uae rider was able to drop the whole visma team expect Jonas on two occasionsI don't believe. What UAE did in the Dauphiné, Visma would be able to do even better if they had a leader like Pogacar.

Imo he does not need to win MSR and PR to become the goat, I know merckx won all monuments, GTs and the WC but it's clearly much more difficult to win all five monuments in this era of ultra specialization. If pog wins more times the TDF (so at least 6) and also more WCs (at least 4) than merckx to me he will be the goat even if never wins PR and MSR, because he will be the record holder in the two most important races in cycling, while also having a very complete resume in other big racesI hope not. If he wants to be the GOAT, he needs to win MSR, PR and the Vuelta. Vuelta looks like a sure deal, the other two? Not really.
PR is a must. It's the queen of classics.Imo he does not need to win MSR and PR to become the goat, I know merckx won all monuments, GTs and the WC but it's clearly much more difficult to win all five monuments in this era of ultra specialization. I know it's the queen of classics and it would be very nice to win it, but it's entirely flat, before pog it was unthinkable for a tdf winner who weighs 65kg to win PR in modern cycling .If he surpasses merckx in WCs and TDF wins he doesn't need PRPR is a must. It's the queen of classics.
He was second this year and would have lost in a sprint if he didn't crash.I know it's the queen of classics and it would be very nice to win it, but it's entirely flat, before pog it was unthinkable for a tdf winner who weighs 65kg to win PR in modern cycling .If he surpasses merckx in WCs and TDF wins he doesn't need PR
I'm not saying he can't win, I'm saying he doesn't need to win it to surpass merckxHe was second this year and would have lost in a sprint if he didn't crash.
You are totally right, if you exclude every team main guy and just looking 3 GTs, monuments and WC (and that is really everything what's count) UAE is extremly bad since Pogi joined them. Jumbo won with Yates, Kuss, VWA and Roglic+ main guy, Alpecin with Philipsen + main guy, Bora with Hindley + main guy, even Bahrain won with Mohoric and Cobrelly, Also Ineos with GT and Kwiatkowski. UAE has great guys in their team but if Pogacar would race in other team they would have been seen as rich failure.Visma has won GT with Kuss and Simon Yates, having not done so since 2018. UAE has been unable to do so with either Ayuso or Almeida.
I repeat, Kuss has a GT. A cyclist who only had a tenth-place finish before. Meanwhile, Ayuso, the best U23 rider of his generation, is still not achieving.
Last year, on the echelons stage, all the UAE riders were dropped except Pogacar. On these flat stages, Vineggaard always rides with at least a couple of teammates. In the UAE, he'd have to do it alone.
It's more difficult to race a GT in UAE because they're still a disaster in many areas.
Not to mention that Pogacar won a Tour without a team in 2020.
He's much more self-sufficient than Vingegaard.
You only have to look at Pogacar in Roubaix; he did it all alone. In 2022, Van Aert had to save Vineggaard on the cobbles stage.
Pogacar would be much more infallible in Visma.
Motivation is one thing he may have but PR "don't care" who you are. So many pitfalls and challenges there to undo an effort. What motivates Pogacar is being the best ever. He is no longer competing with MVP, Vingegaard, etc. His opponent is Eddy Merckx.
Equally though Visma have had a very strong classics group for 6-7 years and only had 1 MSR and 1 LBL to show for it.You are totally right, if you exclude every team main guy and just looking 3 GTs, monuments and WC (and that is really everything what's count) UAE is extremly bad since Pogi joined them. Being able to deliver the power from a seated attack will be even more advantageous in such conditions.Forecast gives rain for Sunday and Tuesday. Teddy will kill them all in those steep gradients just like he did in Huy.
Yes. He just needs to be well positioned with Narvaez and Wellens.Being able to deliver the power from a seated attack will be even more advantageous in such conditions.
He will break all these records View: https://x.com/faustocoppi60/status/1851394013883949313I'm 99% sure only a crash can prevent him from winning the Tour. Records are going to be broken and they are not secondary records... they are legendary records (Ventoux and Hautacam)!
I'm curious to see if he can climb Peyragudes under 20 minutes
Not all but Hautacam, Peyragudes and Mont Ventoux will be all out efforts from UAE/PogacarHe will break all these records View: https://x.com/faustocoppi60/status/1851394013883949313
