come on, jorgenson attacks have nothing to do with this, if a rider decides to sprint into your wheel and crash you out there's nothing you can do
Would there be attacks left and right if u had ordered narvaez to make a strong pace in the front? They were watching each other when the attacks were left & right. Why is he letting this happen? It was only him who had a domistique at that moment why doesn't he ordered to get a strong pace? Why is he giving any chances?

Nothing changes with narvaez in front, with this parcours in the first 11 stages everybody in the top 15 thinks they can do something and they attack like idiots to get 2 seconds at the finish

Backloading Grand Tours does this. The Giro was similar with no real stages until Stage 16.

I think he follows Matteo because he has a clear shot and it's and easier positioning than trying to fight through the other guys. If you can roll up as smoothly as he has it doesn't take too much energy.
As for JV's tactics; I've been critical as they have proven to be waste piled on top of waste. Their whole team will start to show the wear and tear at just the wrong time. The other reason he pursues Matteo is that he respects his abilities and he is a threat.
Do you think if it was vingegaard he would respond to pogs domestique? He doesn't even care about remco & roglic and for Jorgenson abilities he put more than 25 minutes on him last year so he can't imagine jorg can win against him. Idk if its an ego thing or anything which i cant understand.
All in all vismas tactics for the 1st 11 days have now worked & its happy days for them

exactly, the tour is even worse because it's a bigger race and they act like lunatics to gain 2 seconds just to lose minutes at the first real stage

UAE can't control all of the random attacks and they need folks fresh for what's ahead. Hindsight would support a strong leadout for Tadej but the rabid attacks will continue; even when a break is up the road. Look at the massing at the front of Healy/Pogacar's group rolling in by Tudor and Astana and an attempt to sprint for what? 20th place? Julian Allaphalippe of all people who you don't need jumping around in front of you....

exactly, UCI should take these things seriously instead of taking ridiculous decisions about safety. Most of safety problems arise because of riders' behaviour and this is a prime example of that. The UNO x rider should leave this race
Not the Uno-X rider's fault. Every rider in that group went from the left side of the road to the right side in reaction to Vauquelin's attack except for Pogacar who was thinking about what he was going to have for dinner or looking at someone in the crowd or something.

On point. I think he also follows him because…it’s no problem for him to follow.

If he felt like it was going to cost him, the calculus would be different.

Look to his line and compare with other riders. Are you serious?

Nope. Jonas only has eyes for Tadej's rear wheel and he uses a fair amount of tense energy to stay there. Matteo is a better climbing threat at this point in the race than Remco and is always the first effort to launch Jonas. Tadej following him and having Jonas chase to close that gap is precisely the point. It uses two energy investments by JV and very little by Tadej to cover them. If Jonas tried to accelerate off of that move Tadej would be there and on it. Pretty much like this entire Tour.

Hopefully tomorrow we get some positive vibes with Pogi stomping on Riis' record.
I think he should be fine. I think some people just don’t want to expect much so that they’ll be less disappointed if things don’t go as planned tomorrow. I still think he’ll attack Jonas and try to drop him. If he drops Jonas, he gains around 45 seconds let’s say.

two signs to watch for tomorrow: whether he's dressed all in white and whether UAE will chase the breakaway.
yep, if UAE chases the breakaway we have to wait for hautacam but there's a chance he's okay, but if UAE doesn't control I already know he's not ok and he might loose the tour

we have no idea, after the race he actually looked good given the circumstances, remco looked worst on stage 3 after his crash and in the stage 5 TT he was on his normal level
The wound on his arm is very big, and he also had abrasions on his hip and thigh.

And he fell on his hip. That will hurt for the next few days.

The time trial could be severely affected.

I wouldn't read too.much into the latter.
They may well set a high-ish fake pace so that they act he is fine even if he isn't.

you can't fake anything, if they pace slowly another team will take over, if UAE gets in front they will push

And he needs to know who he is next to before that sudden move. Cocquard taking out the Green Jersey would be nothing as career-defining as taking out Pogacar. He, Jonas, Remco, Primoz all deserve respect that is no longer shown. UnoX got a wild card invite and are now trying to prove they earned it. They did with a great win that wasn't in jeopardy by the following group. Tobias should have just chilled on wheels with all of the points up the road and his guy on the top step.

it's entirely possible tomorrow he will be bad and also the day after, we have no idea now
