If he does skip the Vuelta it will be to keep the team happy - which was what Geraint Thomas said was the resaon last year - nothing to do with fatigue IMO. All the more so because UAE made such a giant mess of the Giro.
That's what I like the least. A rider like Pogacar should do what he wants, and if a teammate gets upset, he should leave. They can't force him, and this isn't the first time.

Neither Almeida nor Ayuso are going to beat Vingegaard

I'm pretty sure this is just speculation. But according As, he will announce on Wednesday, he won't race the Vuelta.
AS journalist is close to Ayuso. Pogacar was going to make an official statement, but Ayuso has already leaked it to his journalist friends. The team should call him out. This isn't the first time this journalist has leaked information based on information provided by Ayuso's entourage.

I don't know what UAE think Ayuso has on them - I guess the Spanish market is huge. I hope we're going to see something that warrants the superstar status.

nah, too much travelling back and forth

I think he'll race Worlds, Emilia, Lombardia
I think he'll do Quebec and Montreal, like last year.

I think his schedule for the rest of the year is:
Quebec
Montreal
Worlds TT
Worlds RR
Emilia
Tre Valli
Lombardia

I just saw the Vuelta route. I didn't remember it being that easy.
He could win it with mountain sprints.

I don't think the route will be that easy another year. He should take advantage of it

It is. That is why even if multiple sources say Pogi is not doing Vuelta, I'm still holding onto a bit of hope that Pogi will go to Spain, even if it could compromise Worlds.

I'd like him to go too, but obviously not if he really is suffering some sort of burnout or depression. I struggle a little bit to believe the articles that have been shared, on the grounds that everything that comes directly from Pog or the team suggests he actually hasn't made up his mind yet and needs a few days off before he decides.

What is the difference of doing Emilia or this race?

Emilia: you are with YOUR team, team mates, staff, in the hotel your team reserved. you know the race, the parcours, you already won it. you stay in Italy after Emilia and keep training for Lombardia. you don't race for the national team, no press conf, no recon, no travel back and from from France.

This was said by a journalist close to Ayuso who has been leaking everything for years.

It's a mistake. I don't remember such an easy course in GT. Maybe the 2022 Vuelta.
He shouldn't miss this opportunity, it will never be that easy. Except for Angliru, the rest are mountain sprints.

Considering all the information we already have, plus him saying something today (by Instagram) like "João Almeida, Vuelta is calling for you", i'd say it's basically a fact he won't go the Vuelta this year. And tbh, i think it's the right choice right now.
Have you seen the course? The decision is wrong. He'll never have such an easy course.
When I saw the route, I changed my opinion. This was definitely the year.

Ayuso and Almeida aren't going to beat Vingegaard. A GT isn't Algarve or París-Nice stage.

I don't see a big difference but I respect your opinion. It's not a long travel from Monaco to the Alps and from Alps to Lombardy. It would be a new goal for him.

Sure, but nobody cares about ECRR. An Emilia win is about the same in prestige, and all of pastronef's point are good in regards to why it makes much more sense just to do Emilia + Lombardia. Its a very interesting route though, so can't really rule it out, but..
