Vingegaard was at his best in the Alps for sure. At least, stronger than in Pyrenees.

Maybe on Loze stage but he burned his matches on Madeleine. During La Plagne he was unimpressive but maybe he just wanted to win the stage on Pog's back. His strongest version was on Mt Ventoux.

He hasn't been wearing a heart rate monitor lately until today so probably back doing actual training.
Where did you see him training with a heart rate monitor?
He was really tired of he needed 20 days to recover after the Tour.

My understanding is that it will be for sprinters but who knows.
I read somewhere last 30km will be flat but before that a hilly race. Not to hard but still to much for sprinters. Because of that i believe Tadej going next year to Vuelta.

The Montreal WC isn't going to be for sprinters. Last year, at the Montreal GP, they said they wanted to pay homage to Merckx's world championship. It would be more similar to the Montreal GP than a sprinters' world championship.

The UAE WC will be for sprinters, as Gianetti said.
The Denmark GP is unknown, but for the terrain is possible another WC for sprinters.

2 flat WC in a row. Not great.

But in fairness, we will have had quite a few climby/ punchy WCs in a row after this year. Assuming 2026 and 2027 also have a reasonable amount of climbing, it seems about time the sprinters have a couple of chances. I wouldn't mind a sprinters parcours in 2026 or 2027 to be honest, I'd like Pog to go to the Vuelta!

Sprinters don't deserve anything. Zurich was a WC for puncheurs.

Pure sprint WC's shouldnt be a thing, but it rarely is either. Denmark 11 at least had some elevation, and Worlds 16 (was it in Qatar?) at least saw some crosswind. I think the last time it was a pure sprint fiesta was in Zolder when Cipo won, but I wasn't following cycling back then, so I can be mistaken. Wouldn't mind a WC for a durable sprinter here and there after a few very hard courses, but 28 and 29 seems to be completely flat. Thats quite poor planning, but that just means more riders probably will try to target the Vuelta instead.

Qatar was a long flat diminish but the field was drastically reduced by the strong crosswinds so everyone fully earned their spot in the front group.

Both Richmond and Bergen still had large groups in the final but were not pan flat.

The last true sprinters world was Copenhagen 2011 won by Cavendish but this was the era of his career when he could still get over a few obstacles.

Just doing zone 2 rides.
Laugh if you want. If he's capable of pushing the necessary watts for 3 hour intervals equaling baseline pack racing speed that is totally relevant. It takes a fair amount of time to get the impact and then proceed to other intervals. Unless you have his computer read out you can't know what value if offers, can you?
It's not like the old days where the coach would force us to ride fixed gear bikes with a 42x16; "until the buds are on the grapevines.." because he heard that's how the Italians did it.

None of Sagan's were particularly easy. Qatar would have been with no wind but that didn't happen and a windless version would've turned out differently.
Watching his attack in the US version with Greg VA following was a serious effort; something like a pure Belgian cobbled climb at 12% from 7km out. Watching him nuke the downhill was pure Outer Limits descending. Totally opposite of Norway where it was an aggressive and grindy race finishing on a hill. He won by a very small margin.
None of those suggested a lightweight climber would be in the picture, at all.

Ouch! A belgian saying this.

With Pogi & Urshka starting kids factory in 2028 and Trine retiring Vingo soon there are still chances for Remco.
