not stressing, just making comments, to which by the way you have never responded, not in the merit. Your comment is basically: whatever, just let things go, winning or not winning is the same, the team will do their best, they will be good enough, life is life. You have not entered in the merit of my comments. By the way, in life if you want to really achieve something you have to plan for it and go after it with everything you have, but I will stop here because I was here to talk about racing, tactics and riders, simply was not expecting a comment like yours. Enjoy MSR, it will be fun, that's the only thing we apparently agree on!Stop stressing. Things will rarely be ideal. Neither before or during a race.
I will never agree with your view on this one, as I dont think your reasoning or panicking does any good for the outcome, and a win or not wont change that stance from me whatsoever. It is not how I think or go about life. One would have to change their sheets far too many times otherwise.
I disagree.not stressing, just making comments
"By the way, in life if you want to really achieve something you have to plan for it and go after it with everything you have"
no that would be extreme and would make no sense, I would avoid TDU/alula tour and the opening weekend. In general I would reduce the number of race days for key MSR riders, and only send del toro to tirreno, but not mcnulty to PN (no chance of winning). There's a reason why pogacar only races once before msrSo do you expect them to do MSR as their first race of the season?
It's not like TDU is race where crashes happen often. Omloop is a dangerous race though.no that would be extreme and would make no sense, I would avoid TDU/alula tour and the opening weekend. nope, I corrected my mistake there, I said 1) very little chance 2) much lower chance than with a superteam. Still haven't heard if you agree with these 2 points specifically, apart from "life is life"/Bad luck which do not address the specific points directlyYou have given up the race before it has even happened, which is just unwise.
Thats not true.nope, I corrected my mistake there, I said 1) very little chance 2) much lower chance than with a superteam. Still haven't heard if you agree with these 2 points specifically, apart from "life is life"/Bad luck which do not address the specific points directly
all races are dangerous, the point is that tdu is not a big race, they have already won it many times and you can easily sacrifice it one year, just like alula tour and other minor races. I hope christen can make a strong pull in the first part of cipressa, he has to do the role of wellens and that's not easy, if he's well positioned he can do itIt's not like TDU is race where crashes happen often. Omloop is a dangerous race though.
Regarding his team, Christen looks good and ready to help Pogacar.
But what big races do they have before MSR?all races are dangerous, the point is that tdu is not a big race, they have already won it many times and you can easily sacrifice it one year, just like alula tour and other minor races. my first post makes perfect sense, I just exaggerated to make a point, my mistake. The only exaggeration was in saying no chance, which I corrected to little chance. The rest of the post is just saying that with a proper superteam UAE could make a huge difference and pogacar would be my favourite to win, and I stand by thatThats not true.
UAE will still be able to have pretty competitive team.
Then one cant plan an automatic outcome regardless who is there or not.
You were panicked and your first posts was irrational. Things said one can only laugh at right now.
You just need to be more calm and just see what happens sometimes.
Okay. You make perfect sense.my first post makes perfect sense, I just exaggerated to make a point, my mistake. The only exaggeration was in saying no chance, which I corrected to little chance. UAE tour (is big for them), Strade, Tirreno, Paris Nice. That's it. By the way they would have to sacrifice a few minor races in january/february, it's not like you are asking them to plan their entire season on MSR, just the first 2 monthsBut what big races do they have before MSR?
Do you realise all these injuries have occurred in WT races which teams must race. What a silly post!crash for vermaerke, also christen seemed out of gas in this tirreno after all these races. At this point the team for msr is just too weak for pog to have a chance. Imo if he really wants to a chance in the future the team has to finally support him, they have to plan the season of the other riders so that they arrive to msr in top shape. So less racing in useless races to avoid crashes and to arrive to msr in top form. The team would have to be: Narvaez, wellens, vermersch, del toro, Mcnulty, Christen, Vermaerke/Consfroy all at 100%. This team could destroy the race, since the capi and destroy cipressa. With this team imo pogacar would win sanremo solo, but for next week he has no chance
Do you realise the TDU is a WT race which means the team must be present.all races are dangerous, the point is that tdu is not a big race, they have already won it many times and you can easily sacrifice it one year, just like alula tour and other minor races. Omloop is big for belgian riders. McNulty crashed in PN. Crashes are part of bike racing.UAE tour (is big for them), Strade, Tirreno, Paris Nice. That's it. He wants to win TDU, he said that.I might have missed something significant about a bucket list, Tour Down Under and Tadej but words and actions say that he wants to start as late as possible, 2 out of last 3 years in March and in 2025 he had to meet team \ national \ sponsor obligations by racing at UAE. TDU was semi problematic because of heat so maybe moving it earlier is better.
This year with all the Del Toro hysteria, Isaac was able to go to UAE tour, win for the UAE team and sponsors and fans, racing public thought they saw a quality racer win. I don't think that Tadej wants to do UAE tour or TDU.
Pogacar is saying he wants to do less, not more.
Semi moronic move by Del Toro to run around Italy racing into October, but his reality was a little different, he needed to train, keep his form for Mexican national races, which he won. Tadej has already put Del Toro on his TDF team and depending on how things unfold, Isaac might be given some space to try for a stage. With Bora, Visma, Decathlon, Trek all ever improving, the idea that Pogacar will have an easy TDF is really questionable.
*** and just speculation but Tour of Oman, UAE, Alula, other races in the region are certainly not guaranteed to take place next year***
Pogacar schedule is Romandie..wait @3 weeks do Suisse, wait 2 weeks do TDF...
If he wins his 5th TDF no telling what he will do with the rest of his racing season.
*** in my opinion UAE tour is not big for the riders it's big for Team UAE***
He said it I think as part of a gushing press conference, were reporter listed the races he hasn't won and he was being positive and saying, yeah sure I want win everything. I think TDU is way more likely if he walks away with something at Milan San Remo and Roubaix, He already owns some of the others, Then again everyone loves Kangaroos so it might be important before he completely quits or stops doing grand tours. He wants to win TDU, he said that.
I don't remember the reason but TDU is a special race to him.He said it I think as part of a gushing press conference, were reporter listed the races he hasn't won and he was being positive and saying, yeah sure I want win everything. He did it in 2019 as a first year pro..maybe they don't sell vegemite in his neighborhood grocery?I don't remember the reason but TDU is a special race to him.
Taday is likely to do the TDU the year he misses the TDF.I might have missed something significant about a bucket list, Tour Down Under and Tadej but words and actions say that he wants to start as late as possible, 2 out of last 3 years in March and in 2025 he had to meet team \ national \ sponsor obligations by racing at UAE. I agree with that.. It's all about Lance Armstrong.. Does Pogacar want to try for 6 or will a tie with Merckx and Hinault satisfy him? Does anyone really know?Taday is likely to do the TDU the year he misses the TDF.
