Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

Exactly, people really have no idea what they are talking about when they say "weak" competition.

Merckx faced a bunch of great riders, as Pog is doing also. They won/have been winning anyway, which more speaks to how great they are and not how "weak" everyone else presumably is. It is not the reality. Any other comment could be said somewhere else in the forum.
Once again, nothing to say about Flanders, where he faced the two best specialists for that type of course, but only in Liege tomorrow will he have an opponent that can feasably out-gun him. And only at the Tour again will he face someone in his league. This goes for the select few as well, if Pog is absent.

When you have no reason, dismiss the poster with zero arguments. It's the classic diversionary tactic, which only evidences that which you don't want other people to see.

No, we have already had our discussion about this topic. We agreed to disagreed.

Now you are quoting my post to start the discussion again, when it is over. At least the discussion between us is over from my end, so you either respect that or will keep talking to yourself. Feel free to find someone else to discuss the topic further with, if you want to.

This is caused by the fact that if you‘re that f-ing good there aren‘t many people who can beat you. Most of the time people who win a lot in sports are better than most others.

Ah, no, my dear Salverini, you don't get to decide when and how other posters react to your post. You've continued to insist on, pardon, your drivel ( which is entirely your preogative), but you don't get to decide how one reacts to it. It's called an open, democratic forum baby. :)

True, but that also goes for the other select few. Cycling is different than other team sports, in that, yes, the team counts, but it's the individual stars that determine the level of competition. Not by chance is cycling compared with boxing, for which you need to defeat the truly big talents to make your feats legendary, while along the way you rack up wins against inferior foes.

You can quote my post, say what you want, but I wont continue discussing this topic with you anymore. I have said and made my arguments from how I see it already. I dont have to repeat myself, since you said I have "zero arguments".

You are making this very personal and it is starting to feel like harassment. As said, move on.

When you say "move on," without a single counter argument, you have made it "personal". I could not care less about anything that's not a solid position, so it's nothing personal, trust me. I said you were writing drivel, for all the reasons I set down. If you continue to disagree that's entirely fine, but it also goes for me and I shall continue to state my arguments. Don't feel harassed, as, really, it's just a debate.

We have already agreed to disagree, and I am at least trying to honor that.

You keep making digs at me for 0 reason.

Not at all, I'm simply responding to what, as far as I'm concerned, continues to be insistance on a wrong position. But let me tell you something, just because I'm actually a really nice guy, I will desist from further responses to your posts in this regard, because I have nothing other to state on the matter.

No problem. I have just moved on from the topic now. You cant agree with someone on everything. Im cool with that and cool with being "wrong", even though I dont feel/think I am on this. Lets keep agreeing to disagree on the matter, as we ended on last time.

That is nice of you and we will likely talk about something else further down the line. No worries. Have a good day and lets look forward to the race tomorrow.

I agree with nobody on everything, but one thing is certain, we shall look forward to tomorrow.

I agree that in regards to Rogla vs Pogi rivalry we were cheated a bit. In regards to Tour 21 and 22. Although in my opinion it's Rogla who cracked Pogi at stage 11 of the Tour 22. Hence the rivalry is still very much alive. On top of that they are now rather equal in causing each other to not win the Tour. And to finish second. Hence next time they meet, at Tour, they can start fresh and focus on themself. And race each other from start to finish.

Note: "Other Significant Races" is a non-comprehensive list of races outside the well established and common accepted three categories (GT, Monuments, Seven "Historically/Traditional" One Week Races), the aim is not to argue about which are the most relevant races but to keep track of which I would personally consider the most prestigious events regardless of the current official category.

I have updated the list accordingly with some of your suggestions and corrections. I will try to keep updating and refreshing it.
