Vinge is out of this world. I am speechless. As an instant fan of Pogi since Vuelta '19, this historic day really hurt I must say.
At least I can take solace in the fact that my countrymen around me are having a party.

Giro and Vuelta are still options. This is beyond ridiculous. He will never beat Jonas. They are not on the same boat unfortunately
Calma, still not an optimal preparation. Pogacar needs a TdF without too much heat and a few wet hard days in the mountains, and this could look very different in 2024.This is beyond ridiculous. He will never beat Jonas. They are not on the same boat unfortunately
You can't bet on those factors to win a Tour. He did great today but Vingegaard is simply playing in a different league.Calma, still not an optimal preparation. Pogacar needs a TdF without too much heat and a few wet hard days in the mountains, and this could look very different in 2024.
It is 5% difference in this ITT. I never seen anything like this even in Indurain era.I think it was an ok performance by Pog today. Maybe he was not at his absolute best but it didn't matter as he faced an absolute monster today. Time to go for another stage win. The race is over unless Vinge has a terrible day.
Ofc not, but a combination of a not optimal preparation and then very hot a humid weather has taken its toil in the 3rd week. You can't bet on those factors to win a Tour. He did great today but Vingegaard is simply playing in a different league.

This is still a fantastic performance for a rider that had a significant training interruption. The third week is an obstacle for all and it distinctly separates those better prepared and more measured in their effort. As an instant fan of Pogi since Vuelta '19, this historic day really hurt I must say.

Nope, this is absolute peak Indurain, Ullrich 1997 and Armstrong-style. Nothing you can do at all today, it is what it is.100%
I don' think in any other circumstance he could have been much closer than 50 secs-1min of Vingo today.

Up and onwards, people speculating that Pogacar will do a Giro-Vuelta schedule is clueless. He's a champion, and champions doesn't evade your fiercest competitor like this. Ridicolous comments!
I agree with the race not being over.Nope, this is absolute peak Indurain, Ullrich 1997 and Armstrong-style. Nothing you can do at all today, it is what it is.
Tomorrow, I dont expect big things, but all we need is some rain and cold on stage 20, and this Tour is far from over.
I have a hard time seeing any cyclist in history doing better than this. I could be mistaken.I agree with the race not being over.
Comparing his performance with the nuclear age is pressing it a bit.

Sometimes this forum suffers from borderline syndrome. After Marie-Blanque: this Tour is over and Pogacar will never win a race again. After Tourmalet: see, Pogacar is the best rider in the world, Vingegaard doesn't stand a chance! After this time trial: this Tour is over and Pogacar will never win a race again.I agree, and if Pogi doesnt do the tour, then the TdF would become the most boring race of all. Like what would we watch ? it would become a cyclo tourism race for Jumbo.
Unfortunatly the weather will be warm and dry for the rest of the race. Nowadays you dont get cold and rainy weather in France around july anymore.Nope, this is absolute peak Indurain, Ullrich 1997 and Armstrong-style. Nothing you can do at all today, it is what it is.

On paper it is unbelievable, but if you've actually seen the race, it was just like 3 years ago with Pogi vs. Roglic. You could just see that Roglic wasn't on his best day ever, and Pogi was. The same happened today. Add to that Pogi's inferior bike handling, losing a second in every corner, and this time gap isn't actually that unbelievable.I have a hard time seeing any cyclist in history doing better than this. I could be mistaken.
Anyways, relatively speaking compared to his competitors, this is completely out of this world!
