I look forward to that. Always interesting to see if there are still "marginal gains" to be had from smarter training.
nothing revolutionary was introduced. all this is already used by Visma, the problem was that Pog was trained disastrously, worse than if he was in Movistar even now that the errors from the altitude training were corrected, when the TT position and optimization were corrected, when heat training was introduced , sauna and Core device, when proper training intervals have been introduced, you will see the invincible Pog because he is the best of all time in terms of talent, but Pog who is trained like Jorgensen from Movistar is number 1 except for the Tour and Pog who is now training like Jorgensen from Visme is the Pog GOAT and that's it, there's not much philosophy there

Well if true I guess you're right because it's possibly easier to get it (somewhat) wrong than perfectly right when it comes to training.

Nils van der Poel is a brilliant example that when you do things (almost) perfectly right, performance will be unrivalled, no matter the budget and resources of the competition (in that case once again Jumbo Visma but on ice).

Still looking forward to some insights on what eg "proper training intervals" entails.

Ps. no spying for Visma here, I am a big fan of Pog and wish him to win every race he participates in (apart from those where MVDP also races)

Minute 1:45- pogi said " if u remove 1 problem in ur life u can increase ur performance" referring to vingegards evolution. I wonder that 1 pbm was inigo😅 just reading between the lines 😉

here, as I promised, you should save this post and remember it when you watch Pog at the Giro and the Tour: winter under San Millan, light slow training and the gradual introduction of his zone 2 training (that's the only good thing from him) and so on for 5 days in a week, 2 days of rest and 14 days before the first race zone 4 (FTP) 15 min intervals and only 15 min 2 times a week, when the season starts Pog either races or rests between races and 2 times a week zone 2 training and when the altitude period comes before the Tour, he then increases the volume of training, but the intervals are still only 15 min at the FTP level and a handful of zone 2, which is 5-5.5 W/kg (his zone 2), his heat training boils down to Pog putting on a winter tracksuit and riding like that for hours to acclimatize to the heat and that's it, ladies and gentlemen, Inigo San Millan's training.

Pog training under the leadership of Javier Sola from 18.11.2023 is Inigo zone 2 in combination with short intervals of 30-15 sec, 40-20 sec and 2*2 min, introduction of Core devices in training and saunas, introduction of TT training twice a week, engagement of a private coach in Monaco for TT position and optimization Alex Baccili, introducing a scooter in training to simulate the pace of whatever stages he wants and then Pog does intervals after 4-5 hours behind the scooter but does intervals without the scooter (from 5-40 min intervals), data that Sola has seen in recent years, he saw that Pog needs very little stimulation in training at the Vo2 max level and FTP intervals, that there is no need to exhaust him at altitude, and that is why it was decided that the Giro serves as work on the aerobic engine for the Tour and that altitude only stimulates additional progress of aerobic capacity in combination with very few stimulants and Pog should be at 100% at the Tour and with 1-2 kg less than at the Giro, because altitude has had that effect on Pog's weight loss so far. remember this post well and read it every time when Pog is an alien and you think WTF

Thanks, so if I summarize you're saying:
Lots of z2
A bit of anaerobic/HIIT on top of that (eg 30:15 etc)
Some core work
Some speed stuff (scooter)
Some TT stuff
Giro prep for TDF
A bit of weight loss

...not a lot of secrets there. Don't think Visma's spies are going to get all too excited by this.

ps. Eg Dylan Johnsson's videos on training are quite more comprehensive like his talk about the Norwegian success of strict pyramidal training or HIIT vs SST . Not to sound too critical but I was hoping for some details but I'll settle with what you served :)

Visma spies won't be too excited, but they would be very excited if I continued to post complete training and preparations and a complete power profile after specific intervals, oh yes.....

Pog 2019-2023 trained in a very amateur way, almost scandalously bad=Pog no1. except for the Tour, Pog trained in 2024 at the level of Bora, Ineos, I will not involve Visma in that at all, they are at an even higher level = Pog GOAT, so you are asking me for some information, what is the training method, etc., but the focus is not on that but on simple corrections of mistakes with San Millan, which are used by almost all teams like Core for heat training, so Campeanaerts has been using it for years and sauna, etc., and Pog only from this year, as if he fell from Mars and was thrown into 2024, people you have no idea how desperate San Millan is as a coach, that's where the real progress is hidden and not in some revolutionary trainings that Visma doesn't use either, are you at least a little clearer now?

I believe all you are posting and likewise some of the predictions based on the data you have are likely to deliver.
But what do you or Pogacar get out of it?
Isn't there a chance that by releasing it too early too suddenly might have a counter effect on rival teams?

other teams don't ask anything, no one can get this Pog, no matter what information they have about him, I'm joking a little that I'm going to publish the complete Power profile and training of Pog, so I'm not crazy to risk the *** sheik killing me, and that part of the training that I set up on X, he was the only one to give my story credibility and that this story would be nothing without evidence...

I hope you are right, as I am totally in for an epic Pogacar season incl. the double. I will even be at the Tour and root for him this year. But the sceptic in me tells me its hard to believe that UAE and especially San Millan were too stupid for basics (intervals, scooter) and at the same time Pogacar was still so good. Also - its very paradox then that San Millan was lauded as the father of Pogacar's success and painted as a trainer god in the public (https://www.trainerroad.com/forum/t/inigo-san-millan-training-model/43552). I am totally open to be blown from my seat but until it happens, I will totally expect Vingegaard to dominate the Tour again, especially with Pogacar having the Giro in his legs.

San Millan is good to sell the story and raise money for his "fake" cancer research, Pog no longer follows him on Instagram since last summer, Pog does not post any more stories so that people donate to the cancer foundation run by San Millan in America, San Millan was the head of performance in the UAE until 2024 and the coaches did not want to oppose him when he was their boss, each of the 5 coaches had 6 drivers that they trained, San Millan trained Pog and when San Millan became from 2024 an ordinary coach and Jeroen Swart head of performance Pog can finally be coached in a modern way and for the rest I don't care who their coaches are, the point is that Pog got an excellent coach Sola with a modern approach

It all sounds a little odd but I guess that some of those greater talents have managed to get around poorer / lesser training regimes simply by applying their "talent". In other words only when they faced defeat something had to change, eg. Pog in MSR, MVDP in CX (WC 2017 and 2018), WVA in some late Monuments etc. So maybe not so strange that Pog has decided to become more structured about his training and really is trying to become his very best. It should be a scary thought to the competition that up until this year he was simply waltzing around having fun on a bike but has now decided to become a serious pro. I hope Mou is right and that Pog puts Visma and Vingo to the test

there is no test for a hurricane, when a hurricane passes the worst categories, there is no test, and Visma will be hit by the worst hurricane in history

"First of all I have to say a really big thank you to the guys. I wanted to win for them because they worked well throughout the stages. At the end there was a meter or so to 'respect'. As Williams let go I heard him tell Schultz to go. Sam I tacticed a bit if Valter and Kuss would cover Schultz, but he got the difference. The group stopped a bit, we looked at each other and it was already too late. Still, it was a good day for me, I have the right legs and I'm already looking forward to the next stages."
