you have 2 choices, 4 strong guys and 3 climbers.... Baroncini, Bax, Bjerg, Laengen, R. Oliveira, Pollit, Wellens, Morgado, Novak, you choose four from that team, Vine, Soler, Sivakov, Mcnulty, Grosschartner, FFB, Del Toro, Christian, Ayuso, Arieta....you choose three of the climbers, anyone smaller than 180cm has nothing to do with the team
Mate, not including yates in the tour is a suicide move. He is literally the 2nd best climber in the team and the 3rd best climber in the world.

if Visma pulls on a hill of, for example, 12 km 6% and there are Mcnulty and Sivakov in front of Pog, he needs 375W approx to keep up with that rhythm, and if he is behind Yates and Majka, he needs 390W to keep up with that, because I don't care who is the 3 best hill climber if he doesn't fit in my team and take into account stages with more hills and stages in a row and how then Pog won't be exhausted and that can be easily solved... same as the heat problem

I didn't see Vingo behind Kuss except in 1k when Kuss prepares an attack for Vingo on a 10%+ slope where surfing is not important, otherwise Kuss is somewhere at the end of the peloton, he hides and then suddenly comes forward and with Vingo there were always these heavyweights and Kelderman , this year Jorgensen will be the best signing of any team in the last 3-4 years

If this years pog is as u have said the best ever he can't be exhausted by yates pulling him

I would take Pollit, Bjerg, Baroncini, Morgado, Wellens, Sivakov and Del Toro on this Tour, I know that no one agrees with that, but I would do it that way, and in the end if Pog is left alone in the big hills he has to stick to Vingo and that's it if he can, for me the 2 big problems are the heat, which is now solved, and the small hill helpers of 160 cm and 58 kg who do not offer Pog any protection from the wind both on the flat and on the hill, and Pog should, for example, behind Sivakov go 370W to follow the pace and behind Majka and Yates Pog should go 385-390w to follow the pace on the hill, huge difference
In that case you don’t have another dependably elite climber( I didn’t think they would let Del Toro go and we don’t know his 3 week capabilities) who can stay with the small group on the 2nd-to-last climb or not far behind on final climb as insurance policy in case of flat, other mechanical, off day. It true there’s a low % chance of needing it, but if one of those does happen the Tour is lost right there. IDT Roglic would have won the Giro last year if Kuss wasn’t there to pace him during Rog’e off day in the mountains

you don't know how much it means to constantly save 10-15W for three weeks, Pog is the best ever and fortunately this year there is no Majka in the team for the Tour and I assume that Yates will be ahead of Ayuso in the train

if that Abi is for Roglić, let me tell you right now, brother, I'm sorry I didn't mention him at all, but I promised myself that I would only mention here the real contenders for the Tour, and that's not a ski jumper, even though I love jumping and I was 19 years old when I was last time on Planica

Pog will perform at the Giro for the rest of his career, that's not information, but my opinion, he loves Italy, the fans, pasta, pizza, it's close to his heart 20 times more than the Tour and after winning the double this year, I think he'll go for 5-6 Giro in a row

What’s been rumored for quite some time now, is a done deal according to HLN: Marc Hirschi will ride for Tudor Pro Cycling in 2025.

the best news of the day for Pogačar

He did had a great season last year. But don’t think UAE going to miss him. He is not a team player and Morgado is already better.

Visma thinks of every detail, from cold drinks, heat training, nutrition, to who is ahead of whom in the train, cold vests, mattresses, pillows, and if the UAE approaches everything in an amateur way, it ultimately brings victory in 3 weeks

This been known for a while now. Why does UAE not change it? They should spend more money to back the riders not on new riders.

What happened to this thread? It seems like whenever a rider has no chance of winning the Tour any more.

The thread goes ballistic.
That's why Roglic has a chance, so Luke Plapp leaves him in the hills, what we're talking about and that's after the altitude, so it would be better if he stayed with his wife in Monaco, it would save effort and time.... what kind of drivers Roglic, Visma make 20 % better than what is realistic and we are watching this right now from Roglica, don't be children...

Blimey, this thread has exploded a bit since I last checked in. I took @mou's first comments with a pinch of salt but it is pretty clear to me now, he is genuine. @mou have you p*ssed off UAE? You were being followed by Jeroen Swart yesterday and now he has unfollowed

I think I know who @mou is but don't want to expose his identity if it means he stops posting....
