I can't believe it too but after looking to what we saw today... if he does a 20 minute effort test in his roller, I'm not sure he isn't able to put 520 watts. It is crazy but did you see the same as me? He took 4 minutes on Pantani!
FTP is still 1 hour, you can do the FTP test just by doing 20 minutes though, but then you still have to *0,95 that number. Actually most normal people would do that test me included, but anyways its obviously still not has precise as an ACTUAL FTP test

I’d like to see three GTs in a calendar year. But pog’s number goal at the beginning was of the year was world championships. He might not wish to risk that
Yeah that was the plan indeed. However, he'll get way more opportunities to win Worlds than doing the triple which is a once in a life time opportunity with Vingegaard injuried in the Tour and not doing the Vuelta. Besides, Pogacar can still do Worlds, but obviously not with optimal preparation.

Actually with that test you're supposed to do a max 5 minute effort first, then short recovery before the 20min effort. Everyone seems to conveniently forget that part.

Where did we get this 520w 20 minute figure from anyway?

Its clearly over if he dont crash or get sick? He is just increasing the gap and its two stages left basicly to take time and the gap in strenght is huuge and by the strenght level to just close that takes alot doubt even that happens nvm to be able to drop him.

Probably is given the current strenght of Visma and Jonas. But if he has a bad day in Alps 3 minutes are not a lot of time. After Tuesday sprint stage there are 4 mountain / hilly stages and ITT. So it is very backloaded Tour and you don't want to have off day in the final week.

Well then Im doing it wrong. It made little sense to me either since I thought there should be a bigger diff on 20 min vs 1 hour, but thats what we were trained to. Maybe something like *0,90 then?

Lets hope he dont decide to turn up in the sprint and try to get top 10 there aswell :tearsofjoy:

Its just hard to believe isnt it guy is doing the best climbing performance of all time, then he is beating one of the best classics legends in Van der Poel and here Vingegaard gets a smackdown then next sprinting in mass sprints...imagine its just hard to even get its to wild how strong he is.

An amazing ride to cap off his spectacular season. Pogacar has been looking bette this year compared to previously yet there was some doubters. Proving many wrong this year and getting to kick dirt back into Visma’s eye.

What did Mou say? That Pogacar would never lose a stage race that he finished again or just into next year as well?
Mou said that Pogi is going to win everything for the next 5 years

True it was originally the only thing I was concern for his sake the Giro fatigue and a burst from that from the gecko. But the form curve here doesnt seem to be a problem and unless thats the cause its no place left to take that time on him imo enough to just close the gap..

It looks like the Giro won't be an issue and they timed his peak shape perfectly. It also looks like the first year where they did preparations with grand tours in mind.

After 2021 TDF it looked like he can do it all and still win grand tours with ease. But then Vinge came on stage all guns blazing and Pog looked vunerable at times.

After this weekend he looks like stronger rider with stronger team.

I think he said he would not lose a stage race over the next 4 years

You can always look in the history. Anyway
True but I will never get the 2023 pogacar was clearly never at this best for natural reasons. Not only did he lose prep okei but he had a broken wrist which wasnt even healed during the race. He said that in every rest day that tha fracture still wasnt healed even. Just blows my mind when people use that as a reference thinking that was ever his true level :tearsofjoy:

But yea this new coach seems to have stepped it up a notch even not that I personally think it ever was close. Might have been somewhat close but yeah you get me.

2023 is understandable as he had only couple of weeks to get ready. It was 2022 when he first found his cryptonite at grand tours and he had no answer that year. This year looks strong but it is still long way to Nice.
