Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

I've realised now that it was always the best way to look at it.
And also realised that like with the rumours, it's best just to ignore it.
We are all essentially anonymous. What’s the point of engaging anyone then? The guy outlined fairly specifically who he was. Went on to make claims that have played out when he said they would by how much he said they would.

The primary reason he can’t post here is that doubt people have about others they post around. When pressed about being wrong we call the other person a fraud.

Dont think anyone is suggesting Vuelta this year. I think thats overdoing it while he properly could win it it can hamper him the upcoming seasons. WC is way more attractive for me and I guess thats the plan and always has been aswell.
The reason why I think he should maybe do the Vuelta is because no one has ever done it before. It would elevate Pogi to Merckx status without a doubt. If Pogi is going to be acknowledged as the GOAT, he needs to do things that are so insane that even Merckx didn't. Especially if there are big races where he won't win like Paris-Roubaix. He still looks so at ease and riding within himself. I don't think there will be anyone there to be close to him, apart from Roglic but he is a level below and 50/50 if he even finishes, and he can probably cruise to a win like he did in the Giro

Didnt I read somewhere giro, tour and wc(if he does that) was a rare achievement aswell? Sure would elevate him in greatness terms aswell for those who just look at preemptively stats only.

And if he becomes World Champion, UAE will have to give him a proper jersey. The UCI ain't gonna stand for nonsense like this:

I see your reasoning but I dont think Merckx is close to him even now thats just me. I think Pogacar is by a wide margin the best of all time. But I get what your saying and if you mean by greatness sure I agree but not if it will ruin him the upcoming seasons thats my point about that if you get what im saying? 3 Gt in one year can do that most likely not to him but who knows im sure they know that better but that was my only point. I get what your saying though.

Giro + Tour + Worlds has been done by Merckx, Stephen Roache and van Vleuten in the women's. So it would be a crazy achievement but it has been done before. Giro + Tour + Vuelta in a season has never been done. We saw last year it is possible to still win the Vuelta after riding Giro+Tour by Kuss

2 things. Kuss didn't ride full gas (by that I mean fighting for the GC) during Giro and Tour. In Vuelta, Jumbo gifted him a GC win.

Yes, but Pogi didn't ride full gas, at least not in the Giro

And, Kuss was probably in his best-ever form in the Vuelta. Yes, he was gifted the win, but, ordinarily, you'd expect Vingegaard and Roglic to beat him. He was slightly worse than them because he is not as good a rider, not because of fatigue. This shows it's possible for Pogi to be in close to his best form

reduced weight, increased strength, improved posture on the TT bike, solved the problem with heat, improved w/kg and especially on long hills of 35-50 min duration, solved the problem of a bad trainer and consequent fatigue after the altitude camp, and before all these changes and progress was the best cyclist in the world, I think it is clear to everyone what will happen soon...
Jesus Christ, this all tracks.
Let' s see this third week.

I never understood why Pogacar was suffering the heat so much. Ok, it's normal to perform better in specific conditions, but he was struggling so much in hot days that never made any sense to me.

Now it seems there was a reason for that.

I think if this season didn't have the olympics a treble would've been possible. I just can't see it fit in a schedule that requires to keep it at 100% even in the week after the tour
Olympics will not mess his season. He will go there after a solid vacations and Paris is very close to his home so no, it wouldn't mess with his preparation even if he wanted to do the Vuelta.

"Mouism" is getting stronger and stronger. Another new CN member idolizes Mou! And he is gone and dead since April! Mouism at his best!

UCI are very strict to what they want to see in a rainbow jersey so if Pogi becomes the World Champion, his rainbow jersey should look similar to any usual rainbow jersey that we have seen already. Just change the team logo and sponsors with the same large size of rainbow bands. I guess the red background around the Emirates logo would be changed to black as well.

Does he race to win is the only question mark on how much impact it would have. There are guys racing now and not racing now who have targeted the Olympics for purpose.
