Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

Goerge Bennett said the 4 best riders in the world are the best because they have better genetics and also said Visma was more professional than UAE because they test their riders meanwhile UAE only bought riders with good results without doing anything more. Bennett rode for both teams.
Its quite obvious visma are more professional than uae just listen to jaroen swart saying they started to incorporate strength(off the bike) training for pog starting in 2024 when all other teams even the small ones have been doing it for years. Pog would have won everything by the age of 26 if he was in visma by the age 19 but its better late than never he still has time.

Poor Jorgenson properly still salty about Pog taking him out at Isola 2000. If he only pulled with Pog when they even isolated him on gravel stage, beta male mentality if ive ever seen it, pathetic. While Pogacar just wants to kill.

Yeah, but from what I've seen his strength training still sucks, smith machine squats and similar stuff.
I actually don't mind single leg leg press for cyclists to improve unilateral force production.
Some proper squats and romanian deadlifts (you get more out of less weight) and core stuff like back raises with some weight plates alongside that and yoga and you have a good, not too complicated strength training regiment for a cyclist.

I did see Poggo the other day on instagram doing the usual five sets of f*ck all and three sets of a middle aged weight watchers participant thinking they got their moneys worth because the movement looks complex. These athletes are usually succeeding due to otherworldly genetics, a hell of a lot of hard work, time, money and the right medical preparation. Most guys like Pogacar have a huge entourage around them looking to get their moneys worth, a few will seriously know what they're doing but a lot will definitely be selling fog.

Despite all the gimmickry rich guys indulge in nowadays and window dressing about advancing sports science, like you said, the best overall exercises are still, as they were when we were cavemen;

Pick heavy weight up off floor
Lift heavy weight over head
Pull yourself up on bar
Squat with weight on back

Harder to charge 500 dollars an hour just to tell someone that though.

This is mind blowing. How was he the best rider with probably a mediocre coach?

Not only his coach but the whole environment in uae is mediocre thats why they can buy the best talents from youth like ayuso, morgado christen, deltoro & make them mediocre riders. Imagine if visma has the budget to buy these talents and they joined visma😟 why do you think there is a lot of scrapping from riders to get sola, like almeida, majka... do you think any rider at visma does it for vingegaards coach? No, as bennet said at visma professionalism is a culture while at uae its odd

Vuelta route is made for Pogacar. But what route arent in all honesty, impossible to not favour him when he can crush MVDP in flandern and set the best climbing numbers in all metrics of all time - solo like in WC and Lombardia its just not fair if your anyone else.

Also he will race the Vuelta barring any crash or setbacks im certain of it. Mark it.
How do you know?

You do know that this 'alpha' and 'beta' talk just makes you look like a very insecure adolescent, right?

''The 2023 Tour de France edition had the highest viewership in the last 20 years. It attracted an estimated 3.5 billion viewers worldwide, with 42.5 million viewers in France alone. This record-setting viewership reflects the race's immense global appeal and popularity''

and

''UCI Cycling World Championships 2023: The event attracted over 200 million hours of television viewership globally, which is a 75% increase compared to the average for previous years''

Based on numbers from 2023 and 2024 its even growing even more from there, like what in the world are you saying man its so bizzare sometimes. Cycling has never been bigger how is that even a discussion at all from you? like yeah its like you just say things disregarding any numbers or statistically facts..
