Word, exactly what ive been saying one to many times. Why are we applying common cycling theory on Pogacar when he's basically violating every piece of cycling common sense every year
The total P-R recon was 165k. NOT a troll job like the arenberg video hinted at.
For the first time I think his participation in PR is realistic in the near future. He will likely try it this year, why doing all cobble sectors otherwise?
As the Wielerflits headline says, "he was just nearby".
Seems highly plausible.
I stand corrected. Maybe I got recency bias in my memory from him skipping it in his final year when I would have thought he would target it as the biggest race highly suited to him that he never won in his career. He didn't ride it in his last season (EDIT: he got ill in Catalunya, so he has only ever deliberately skipped it once), he rode Castilla y Leon instead in 2016 as he prepared for the Giro, was stopped by a volcano in 2010. Other than that, he rode it every single time he also rode Liège.
Seems most likely that they will keep it under wraps for psychological effect to the pelotonFor the first time I think his participation in PR is realistic in the near future. That was Lombardia.I stand corrected. Maybe I got recency bias in my memory from him skipping it in his final year when I would have thought he would target it as the biggest race highly suited to him that he never won in his career.
Yeah, never understood this aversion to GdL and italian races in general. He rode several times but somewhat I think his focus wasn't totally thereThat was Lombardia.
I can't remember where I read it but the UAE director that was with Pogi and Wellens said this recon was planned in December with the 4 riders mentioned. Morgado and Politt couldn't make it for "physical" reasons that day.My apologies for missing this detail. But where is it confirmed Morgado and Politt were to be there?
Morgado was supposed to race one week stage races and now they are thinking in including him in PR? He is 21...I can't remember where I read it but the UAE director that was with Pogi and Wellens said this recon was planned in December with the 4 riders mentioned. The Italian National Olympic Committee are the ones who lead the charge in trying to link Valverde to doping so he can be banned.Yeah, never understood this aversion to GdL and italian races in general. He rode several times but somewhat I think his focus wasn't totally there
The guy was top five in Flanders last year, this isn't outrageous...Morgado was supposed to race one week stage races and now they are thinking in including him in PR? He is 21...
Yes but PR is such a violent race, way more punitive for your body. And he said he will do less one day races this year and more stage races (without doing any GT this year). I think he is planned to race a lot with João this year. The guy was top five in Flanders last year, this isn't outrageous...
This year? The schedule looking complete opposite of this.Yes but PR is such a violent race, way more punitive for your body. And he said he will do less one day races this year and more stage races (without doing any GT this year). I think he is planned to race a lot with João this year.
He told he would race more stage racesThis year? The schedule looking complete opposite of this.
Doesnt look that way at all.He told he would race more stage races
No GTs this year. Pogacar will only race UAE Tour in this spring.Doesnt look that way at all.
He wont this spring and then its Dauphine + Tour.
Potentially Vuelta.
When will he fit in all these stage-races? Not happening this year.
Edit: I thought we were talking Pog, lol.
For Morgado it only looks like Algarve, which makes sense given his nationality, and Suisse. Potentially Vuelta. Not really a lot of stage races together. More like what you could expect and it adds up to many days of course.
He said he wanted to do a GT this year and said he think he will do the Vuelta. Hes looked really impressive so far this season, even though way to little sample size ofc, interesting guy to follow the development of for sure. For Morgado it only looks like Algarve, which makes sense given his nationality, and Suisse.
