His performance indicates that his start wasnt necessary. After the Tour he managed to prepare one good day but was completely gassed after it. Time for a longer rest and cya in autumn Italian classics, I suppose!
Short break should be enough. Just not recovered from the road race yet.Once again, he really sounded like someone who needs a bit of a break in the post race interview today.
I dunno, I think its more than that?Short break should be enough. Just not recovered from the road race yet.
I was hoping for another head-to-head with Jonas, but it's important that Tadej does what's best for him. I hope this gives him time to completely heal and prepare for his next goals.I dunno, I think its more than that?

Tadej Pogacar: There is no chance I'm doing the Vuelta a Espana
Slovenian confirms absence after Worlds time trialwww.cyclingnews.com
I really think his LBL crash and trying to rush into form in time for the TdF has really emptied him. Lack of base work is catching up. I think he needs to have a good rest.
He should just race in 2024. Just relax for 2 months and start his prep to a superpeak in july and a mini peak in Flanders.
I’d be surprised if he doesn’t do Lombardia given he’s won the last two and it’s a race practically tailor-made for him. I could definitely see that and maybe a warm-up race or two being his only race days for the rest of the season though. He should just race in 2024. I had the same thought though. Pogacar over the last week has very much sounded like a rider who just wants the season to be over. I hope he'll do Lombardia, I think he'll do Lombardia, but I certainly wouldn't be shocked if the next time we see him is February.Hmm, yeah, I was going to ask if there is a chance he doesn't do Lombardia?
But okay, it's still two months away, I guess he could take a rest for some time and still make it back and be good enough to win. It is Pogačar after all.
Is the mountain sprinter too July obsessed to race the whole year? Thank God we have Vingegaard to provide a show throughout the season.I had the same thought though. You're such a funny man.Is the mountain sprinter too July obsessed to race the whole year? Thank God we have Vingegaard to provide a show throughout the season.
Light up! At least once in a while. You're such a funny man.

With praise and flowers. And maybe laugh a bit or at least smile.Oh, sorry. Please tell me more about how I should react to your posts. Especially when they contribute to this ridiculous narrative about Tadej that you've been trying to spin for a while.
Doubt, also his season has been pretty long. I would take some time off if I was him, but not sure what his contract and team saysCan you get a guy motivated for just Lombardia again though
He was flying February-July last year and the year before too, and did normal fall schedules both yearsDoubt, also his season has been pretty long. I would take some time off if I was him, but not sure what his contract and team says
Is there any talk from him or his team about not doing Lombardia? It’s 2 months away. I’m not a fan but I expect him to rock up and win it again and again and againCan you get a guy motivated for just Lombardia again though
For Pog that hasnt really been a problem. He wants to win most of the races he lines up for, if he can.Can you get a guy motivated for just Lombardia again though
I think it needs to be the plan as those wins will stack and I imagine a Lombardia peak is not the same effort as a TDF peak would be.Can you get a guy motivated for just Lombardia again though
He was able to be very good in the worlds RR right after the Tour... and Lombardia suits him much better.I think it needs to be the plan as those wins will stack and I imagine a Lombardia peak is not the same effort as a TDF peak would be.
But sure if Pogacar reaches the conclusion a few weeks from now that he really needs the rest then fair play. He's achieved so much that one more Lombardia won't fundamentally change his career though he shouldn't make a habit out of skipping them.
Managing to win that race 4 times would look great and isn't unrealistic if he tries.
Perhaps skip the Canadian races though imo those are already worth a little something cause the field there is usually decent.
Different year with different setbacks, you think he’ll ride this schedule when he’s 35? Sometime after a few years at the top people get tired. It’s important he recharges his batteryHe was flying February-July last year and the year before too, and did normal fall schedules both years
