So, racing Giro was a dream for Pogi ever since he was a kid. It's a well known cycling race in this part of the world, due to being an elite race and its proximity to Slovenia. Pogi was a visitor at the 2014 edition, seeing Luka Mezgec writing history. In a bunch speed at the ultimate stage of 2014 Giro edition securing first ever Giro stage victory for Slovenia. Although it rained heavily that day, that didn't prevent Pogi for chasing after and collecting bidons in the caravan.

I wasn't exactly expecting this but its great for cycling that a rider like Pogačar is going to the Giro and this could actually be the best way to maximise his chances of having a legendary season next year.

His schedule could look something like this

Algarve
Strade
Tirreno
Sanremo
Flèche ?
Liège
Giro
Tour
(Olympics could be scrapped depending of how tired he is after the Tour)
Couple of italian one-day races
Worlds
Lombardia

If he also rides the Tour, I wouldnt be surprised if he does it MVDP-style as prep for the Olympics.

With the amount of TT in the Giro, maybe it is the ITT he will try to win at the Olympics? Dont have to do the Tour then imo, before Olympics.

I just don't think Pogačar is the kind of rider to do the Tour, MVDP-style and with an 'easy' Giro before it, I think it could his best chance ever for a Giro-Tour double. But the Vuelta can also make sense, his winnning chances would be higher though I personally would prefer Tour-Vuelta double in 2025.

As for the Olympic ITT, I just can't see Pogačar beating watts monsters Ganna and Tarling or Remco in a one-day flat TT. WCRR its his best chance of winning a gold medal for Slovenia next year, imo, and its a bigger race.
