Just finished listening to the move podcast.

Bruyneel said a source in the UAE camp told him that Pogačar has improved 13 to 15 watts when compared to the Giro and has dropped his weight from 65.5kg to 64kg.

He also said that UAE TT bike is now 750g lighter which could come in handy for the last TT.

1.5 kg is a lot, specially if we add a 15 watts power increment. This tell us he can be 30-45 seconds faster in climbs like Plateau de beille or Galibier.

Embarrassing. Afaik, that count is wrong. He has led the classification after 75 stages and been leading it during 71 stages. From start to finish in 2021-2023, and all except 9 stages in 2020. How on Earth do they get to 72?!

They're only counting the 72 days in a row?
Bernal had it from stage 7-12.

they was ripping the peleton to pieces up Barbotto at the top there but when they stopped it slowed down and gathered. Pogacar and the team like the rest properly knew in advance of the headwind at the end and it would make zero sense to continue something that would cost way more than what they could gain on it.

This is equivalent of 0.4 w/kg threshold change, ridiculous improvement since the Giro. If that's really the case his rivals had better pack their bags and go home and the clinic will soon explode. Does Bruyneel know mou?

You are absolutely right. Obviously I don't believe in this outrageous progress. If Pogacar is better by 0.1 w/kg since the Giro (i.e. by losing 1 kg without power decrease) it's already significant.

Tomorrow is a good stage to test his true level. Fortunately for him, he will have Yates to launch him this time. I think he won't stop unless Jonas is on his wheel.

Exactly, if his source is to be believed that would be doing a negative split of 7.3w/kg for 12 minutes instead of 6.9w/kg for 13mins on foscagno. Which would be close to 8w/kg adjusted to altitude😉 mou would be like lmao

impossible to judge him today did nothing wrong stayed out of trouble and all that but also didnt wreck the field to pieces. Ayuso looked affected by the covid.

There was a moment in the last 10k where the camera was on him for a few seconds. He was nose breathing and looked fresh like the race just started. I also expect him to go full gas tomorrow. He was more than ready today, but perhaps they are thinking ahead and stage 4 is also a good one for him.

Nah, we will have 18 seconds just on bonus so UAE will demolish tomorrow. The only way to not see him winning tomorrow is if he crashes or Vingegaard is able to follow him.

But how did he look, body language? Any reason to believe at all he looks fresh after the giro and ready to breakt he peleton in one of the upcoming days? or most likely impossible to judge today i assume.

Can't really judge it by today's stage. UAE did try to break the peloton but they ran out of domestiques quickly and Ayuso was also struggling so they stopped. We'll know more tomorrow when Pogi inevitably attacks on the final San Luca climb.

Impossible to judge i think he look fresh he said after the stage that he was feeling really good
