Insane stuff from Uae in that headwind nobody can really complain and by far the team that set the stage here..Also Pogacar is out of this world if the climb was steeper etc more fitted for attacks we woulda seen alot more I suspect.Insane stuff from UAE. Now, they just to keep him safe until stage 14
What’s beautiful wife syndrome, haha?Just realised something:
He is cleverly circumventing Beautiful Wife Syndrome by not actually being married to Urska.
It might have something to do with aliphilippe. Symptoms involve lefevreWhat’s beautiful wife syndrome, haha?
Legend.According to the newest forecast pleasant weather for the whole week. Next week maybe but too soon to say that any major heat-wave is coming.
Agree. I think he would on any other climb with steeper gradients and not headwind which was terrible for the sort of climb they did today. So indeed today prefectly but was it steeper etc it would have gotten ugly i think. Vingegaard blew up trying to follow him even here and just after 5-600 meter couldnt sustain it and was totally empty at the top.Think Pog played it perfectly today. Some argue that he should have attacked earlier, that it would distanced Vinge even further.
At the Romandie TT (I think?) last year Mikkel Bjerg said he descended slowly and lost time because he has a beautiful wife (clearly meaning he didn’t want to risk his life but it came across in a funny way). Hence beautiful wife syndrome causes riders to be slow on descents. What’s beautiful wife syndrome, haha?
I find it extremely early to say this 4 days in. Knowing he has the Giro in his legs. If he is going to fade in the end and Vingegaard gets better, it will still be very hardHe needs 40 seconds more to be out of reach in my opinion. Can't see anyone dropping him unless Vingegaard turns in beast mode again, Giro-Tour is closer than ever
I agree and don't understand the knee-jerk "Jonas will get better" thinking. Maybe he will, but I think entirely possible that he collapses later in the race as his body is just not yet ready to manage the workload. After all, Pogacar didn't get better last year when the situation was reversed. As people thinks Pogacar will fade in the 3rd week, they also think Jonas will grow. I wouldn't be so sure. Pogacar did a walk in the park compared his opponents and his entourage still claims he's in best shape e fresh after the Giro.
About Jonas, even if he can put kms on his legs we mustn't forget his hospitalized period and the following days with no training. This "hole" in the preparation plan could be not easy to fill , even putting kms in his legs. It's all terribly unsure.
Yup, exactly the same situation. Agree with that. Will see what happens.I agree and don't understand the knee-jerk "Jonas will get better" thinking. I agree with this assessment.Evenpoel is also lurking and judging by today I would be more worried about Evenpoel than Vingegaard.
Pogacar seem to climb better than anyone, ive never seen anyone this year beeing able to sit on his wheel even for more than 1k when he goes, and they all blow up if they try. So be it liege, giro or here now. May concern for Pogacar is the same concern everyone has and thats the Giro fatigue. Alot to race for still alot.
2010 Tour has it beat with Horner getting “help” by Armstrong, Klöden, and Levi who gad all been on the Tour podium. Only difference was Horner being the second best climber in the world at the time.Imagine the luxury if three of your helpers have been on a GT podium themselves...
Pogacar can put 2 minutes on Evenepoel whenever he wants. It is all about Jonas and he knows that. In 800 m, he put 15 seconds on Evenepoel.Evenpoel is also lurking and judging by today I would be more worried about Evenpoel than Vingegaard.

Sure but evenpoel impressed today. Vingegaad blew himself completely trying to follow Pogacar and was visually totally empty at the top. Evenpoel looked better at the end by far was only my point.Pogacar can put 2 minutes on Evenepoel whenever he wants. It is all about Jonas and he knows that. In 800 m, he put 15 seconds on Evenepoel.
