For this reason, I can't understand why people expected Pogacar to win a lot more time. Maybe on San Luca but that's it. He still attacked on Galibier during a huge headwind and was able to break Vingegaard in a very shallow climb.

He dropped Vingegaard with a Purito style attack, with 1km to go, on the steepest part of the climb.
Just calling it dropping him on a shallow climb is IMO a bit misleading, it was 1km at over 9%.

The eyes never lies if he comes to stage 14 without crash or Giro fatigue the Tour will be over in those two days(to bad you wont get rich if you put your money on it, also its telling..).
You've said it yourself no one able to sit on his wheel uphill this entire year no matter who and where and when even on Galibier on those gradients in headwind its obvious. Stage 11 is a joker if not anything for entertainment purposes.

Here's the thing for Pog and it doesn't really matter to him with the way he races: he just doesn't know how good Vingo will be over 3 weeks. So far, Vingo has limited his losses well; this could be his limit or he has been hiding his true form for weeks. Visma are riding conservatively, playing the long game and not really chasing down attacks with the full team. WVA could have one of his blinding days in the mountains and destroy the peloton and other GC hopefuls.

Vingo could be saving himself for the 3rd week and hoping that Pog burns himself out (again). Or he could get dropped by a blistering UAE team pace.

We just don't know yet...and that makes it exciting until one of them shows serious weakness.

Regarding Pogačar's reaction to yesterday's stage even I do think Vingegaard and Visma are somewhat afraid of him, I do think that Pogačar should start approaching these media interactions from another angle. Given that he is the most successful rider of 2024 so far, he could start making use of that and say things like: "I have already won the Giro and LBL this season so the pressure to get results are on them or I have the yellow jersey so its up to my rivals trying to take it from me"

I believe this would make him appear stronger at the eyes of the press and some haters.

Regarding Pogačar's reaction to yesterday's stage even I do think Vingegaard and Visma are somewhat afraid of him, I do think that Pogačar should start approaching these media interactions from another angle. Given that he is the most successful rider of 2024 so far, he could start making use of that and say things like: "I have already won the Giro and LBL this season so the pressure to get results are on them or I have the yellow jersey so its up to my rivals trying to take it from me"

I believe this would make him appear stronger at the eyes of the press and some haters.

He is young and generally presents himself quite well. But he could also use a staff member on the team with experience and ability with publicity

I agree with all of this except for Vingo possibly hiding form as I think Vingo’s limit has been on full display.

i think JV is near his best. Pog needs to follow him and if he's going to attack only do it in the last 2k before the summits. Remco will lose time in time mountains so that will take care of itself

For sure. He is very close to his best and somehow I feel betrayed because I feared his cycling career was in danger after that crash and his injuries were lighter from the informations they gave to the media. Sorry, I don't believe in miracles, the last time I believed, someone lost 7 Tours. I'm too old for that now

Strong performances through the whole week, still it looks like Jonas is now being able to match it. With full on attacking i do expect for Pogi to pay the price for it in week three. So it will be interesting to see this dynamics continuing deeper into the race. If the duo succeed in cancelling each other out.

Oh well cant fault them for knowing he is just stronger and scared cause they aknowldge that. Atleast when they admit that and thats what they believe it then make a little sense from that standpoint.

This could also be a dangerous stage for Pog. Long stage, over 4800 m elevation gain, and a last climb that takes of 40 minutes to climb, and the day after a hard stage. Not saying it's a stage that doesn't suit Pog, just that it is a really tough stage that anyone must have respect for.

He is better than ever in the long mountains, this year he did not prep cobbled classics so he is lighter and stronger than ever for big and long efforts in the mountains. He did his best performance in the Giro after a tough stage (TT). Don't fool yourself, he is going for the hunt in this stage. Vingegaard needs to be at the top of his game to follow him. He already was saved by Remco and a huge headwind in Galibier.

Both Pyrenean stages are very important. Maybe Pog will actually prefer to attack on Pla d'Adet stage instead and defend the next day (if he gains time on Saturday). I'm curious if Vingo will only ride defensively or will actually put the hammer down at some point (to make up time against Pogi and Remco as well).

The Giro in his legs will always for me too be a suspense, if not only from a purely historic perspective sooner rather or later we will see effects from it. But then again hes a phenomenon. But lets see me too is curious about that part.

Ever since 2020 Visma have always tried to have someone on Pogacar in stage racing. Like Sky with Contador.
