Well this would suggest that maybe Pogacar had some real limitations based on his wrist rehab last year and, possibly; Jonas wasn't has hurt as we were led to believe.
Something that none....I mean absolutely none of Vindegaard's fans took into consideration in their adulation over last year's Tour. They should now because week 3 is on the horizon.
That's when the bills come due.
Jonas wasn't as hurt as we were led to believe?

The injuries were horrendous. I don't think anyone was faking the pictures or the injury report.

I think they faked his injuries a lot.
If his injuries were like they said, he would NOT race like he does right now. No chance. He's not bionic commando who can rebuild himself faster than human.
Steff Cras in the same crash:
"After further examination, Steff Cras suffers from a right pneumothorax, several associated rib fractures and two dorsal vertebral fractures, in addition to several hematomas, wounds and dermabrasions," TotalEnergies shared in a message. "Our rirder will remain hospitalized for a few days."

Do you think they faked that too?

No. But Cras would fade in stage 4. Jonas holds on to the biggest attacks. If he wins the Tour then that would be a miracle. And I don't believe in them...

Noap, but he's not holding to the best cyclist in the world with perfect preparation after 10 stages of TdF. Vinge does. And if he would really have all those injuries, he wouldn't.

I don't think Cras is further from his best level than Vingegaard is from his.
You don't know that, because Cras is an average rider with no results. He's a domestique and rides around with no results. Vinge is basically 98% to Pogačar level. That means with perfect preparation, he would blow Pog away already.

He wasn't hurt as much as Visma told us. Period.

He was 2 weeks in the hospital for some reason, certainly because the injuries were very serious.

The big three four.

Pogacar dismisses the idea that he only lost the 2022 Tour due to bad tactics.
I'm sure no one in the history of the world has ever denied something true. If he truly believes that he didn't ride too aggressively and get baited into wasting energy, then it makes sense that he keeps repeating the same mistakes instead of learning from them. He might get away with it this year due to Vingegaard's bad preparation, but on the other hand (and this is a credit to Pogacar's competitive spirit), his decision to ride the Giro has made it more of a level playing field than it otherwise would have been

Whatever happens, it should be an entertaining race no matter who you support. Hopefully, Remco can manage to stick around to keep the pressure on the other two for as long as possible

His lung issue was pre-eminent in need for evaluation. Once healed it's usually good to go.
Its the 2 weeks of inactivity and reported slow start that suggests it was more serious.
As for broken/cracked ribs and collarbone: I can count half a dozen amateur riders that raced well within several weeks as long as they could pull on the bars. It's the down time in recovery that requires serious work to regain fitness. If there was a period that justifiedly was under wraps by Visma and Co.; it makes strategic sense. Jonas and JV don't owe us exact fitness status and should take advantage of improvement.

If there is a heroic movie about "miracle comebacks" then they'd probably do Jonas a favor and be direct. If he wins he doesn't owe me an explanation as I wouldn't tell opponents sh*t either. It's the fans and a little hyper-press that tend to take this to extremes.

If, however, I hear Phil Liggett breathlessly declare: "we haven't seen a COMEBACK LIKE THIS SINCE LANCE'S VICTORY OVER CANCER1..." I will want to break something.

We'd all like to see an epic Tour and it's building tension so sit back......

Gotta love Poga's Old school-straight forward approach to racing. The man is truly part of that special breed that appears only once every generation. Hope he recovers well for the battles ahead
Best cyclist of all time and its not even close.

Which clearly all the cycling community has crowned him already which is not hard to get at all. And before the few ppl get upset over nothing learn the difference betwen greatest and best.
