He will definitely have another go at MSR. Just keep trying.

Probably Dauphine and Tour, I reckon.

Could that mean more classics again in the spring? Would be great to see him race them in the WC jersey.

WC and then Lombardia, of course. I wouldnt do Vuelta.

MSR is becoming pain in the a** for Pogacar. It's hard to win but if he tries it every year he may succeed one day. He may need a lot of tries but fortunately for him MSR doesn't really collide with anything in his calendar so he'll keep trying.

He just went empty on sugar/fuel that day. Several people have comfirmed that even Pogacar, you can rest assure thats the case.
Nah, that's not a bonk. This is a bonk ...

Armstrong Joux Plane 2000 TdF

But I do agree that more likely Pogacar exaggerated his suffering on stage 11 to lull Visma into a false sense of security. I mean when you bonk you can usually still pull out a sprint? Since when is Vingegaard ever going to beat Pogacar in a sprint - like that day? But Visma obviously took the bait but were then relieved of their chutzpah on stage 15.

You need sugars for sprinting and bonking is running out of them.

He reinforced his dominance in Adet before Plateau de Beille

Simon Yates Bonked in the Giro
Remco Bonked in the Tour

It really is.

Word on the streeths after and during the Tour was he never went all in once during the Tour, that was what I was told by several SD's. Thats hard to believe but was the rumours at least.
This cannot be true? In the massiv central he was definitely on the limit. And up the pla adet and plateau de beille he definitely went full throtle to gain max time right? Also had clearly a heavier cadence last k to isola. Pretty sure these were all max efforts. Why would they not be? But of course, that doesnt mean he was ever in any trouble right

Still not convinced Pogacar didn’t fake it to give Vingegaard and Visma hope before destroying them.
I still think it was Jonas best day that race, mixed with a slight bonk or mental manoeuvre etc.
Not sure I ever saw confirmation from pogi about the bonk, at least publicly. Gracious champions don't offer excuses beyond a congratulations that someone else was stronger that day. Others commentary from race level including my own eyes is confirmation he bonked that day. He couldn't get a gel when he wanted it and he paid for change in tactics from the team that day. It made the race a little more compelling that day.
i still think it was Jonas best day on top of all of this

Bonking is when you've hit the wall by depleting your body's glycogen stored in the muscles and liver. Sprinting uses a different energy system - the Phosphagen System which doesn't metabolise glycogen.
The phosphagen system contributes to a sprint effort but you still need mitochondrial activity and glycolysis. You cannot effectively sprint when under fueled (which was the only reason he lost to Vingo in a sprint).
