Thats why @mou called the bald spanish the worst coach ever & thats why pogs competitors will look like doing a different sport to him in the coming year.

He genetically is just not like anything weve seen in modern cycling, its unheard of by everyone what he does, every single rider is in awe its just the reality of the situation and everyone else too, what were watching is not something that will happen anytime soon simple as that. The way he toyed with everyone in the Tour - after winning the Giro earlier breaking every numbers ever existing and the WC 100km solo as main fav he already is different sport than everyone else in reality.

Just book it, next year the gap just gonne increase to everyone in every discipline. Even if its wild given the fact that the gap is already so incredible huge. Already his FTP is widely reported/rumoured being extensively better than last year, I sincerely think he will just increase more on every number, than everyone else able are to now that he already gotten so much better from the new program in 1 year when you usually gets the most benefits of a new training regime in the 2-3 year.

I saw on twitter today strolling some big cycling profile believed we live in the era of two goats within cycling in the same time. MvdP in CX and Pogacar in RR - I know jack *** about CX so cant comment about that one but nevertheless its a wild time to watch cycling now.

How specialized/competetive cycling is now cause of money involved etc(Mvdp gets 50.000Euro for a lousy CX race) and its almost like its two different disciplines when watching how specialized GT riders are compared to classic riders are within their lane.
Watching Pogacar and what he does makes him even more special and just something for the history books we all get to watch, cheers for that and more of it in 2025 - and many many great talents just cause he makes everyone look second tier I truly believe guys like MvdP, even Jonas, Remco and Wva are all very good talents themselves even historically to some degree.

Just cause Pogacar is so much better doesnt take away anything from them, reality he is alone in history in terms of being the best and theres no one close to him even, so that he does that doesnt say much in that regard(not talking greatest)so it doesnt mean their bad, I believe this era and the amount of talents we have right now in the sport are a golden era. Its blossoming with talents like never before with young riders as a results of how much more lucrative the sport has gotten, and maybe even more how professional it has become, (riders no longer sit the bike 2-3months int he winter and gain 5kg etc) and riders begining in a young age with a program now etc so only gonne get better most likely.

Talking of improvements i think we've to spice up this thread a little bit. Since it is the most popular thread thanks to @mou, I think it would be nice to have the "mou" award at the end of each year which is based on who predicts the best regarding any riders performance throughout the year😉

FW is the one he is most vulnerable at though he will still be a strong favourite especially with Roglic doing Giro-Tour so likely not doing the Ardennes classics.

Hope he does EC but chances high that he skips it in favour of rest/family time.

It would be a genuine shock if he lost any of the others barring accident or illness.

It’s still relatively close though in that respect though it would not surprise me to see Pogi take off on the penultimate ascent of Mur de Huy and make it an endurance test instead of a punch up at the end much as in Emilia this year.

I hope he rides it although the chances of him ever wearing the jersey are slim as he will repeat as world champion.

My pick for 2025 is Brandon Mcnulty jumping in performance like Jorgensen did this year regaining his tdf 2022 stage 17 val louron azet level & being one of the best climbers in the world🔥 & i've a feeling i will win💪 Write yours...

I would be surprised if he does EC. I dont think he will. Not an important race for him.

He will be focused on Worlds and Lombardia. Warm-up with Emilia and Tre Valli before the main event.

I'm not saying it is important for him but EC can also be a excelent warm up race for GdL. Route is tailormade for him and has a lot of climbing also, perfect for a test before the big prize.

We will not know until August but Mohoric has no chances in a route like they will have in France. It is a route for climbers.

Still, I dont think it is a race that Pog will do. Doesnt have to and Emilia + Tre Valli works better before Lombardia anyway. He will let others battle for the EC, if all goes to plan. Not a race he should really be targeting at all. Dont understand it really. Why he should race it.

Mohoric has also done well on climbs like Puy de Dome in the Tour. 3rd behind Woods and Latour, before Jorgenson. Done well in a lot of one-day races that has some climbs, not too long. Could very well win from a strong break, if it is a hard race to control. He is very all-round. It is a good race for him to be the leader for.

What is there for Pogacar to gain in Gent Wevelgem, E3 Harelbeke and Amstel Gold Race? Nothing except a potential crash to ruin his season.
The gap between Pog and Jonas is too small for Pogi to do all these spring classics. I really hope he doesn't regret his choices in July.
Even if Pog wins 8 spring races it would mean nothing if Vingegaard crushes him in the Tour. In the eyes of the cycling world and media Jonas would be the alpha again.
I know that it's fun for Pogi to do Flanders and the other cobbles classics but I think it would be more fun for him to destroy a healthy Vinge in the TDF.

I have a feeling that if he wins MSR and RvV he'll try Roubaix.
If anything, he'll see exactly where he is and what he needs for the race.
And if in the VERY outside chance he wins , he puts himself in a position to achieve something truly massive. Even by his standards.

Fair enough and I don’t know if pogi getting second in the tour under certain circumstances is that terrible. He’s win the tour three times which places him in a very distinct group. I get why he wants to race classics and monuments. To win those and still podium the tour is extremely rare in cycling history.

I thought Mcnulty looked stunning very early season last year but then seemed to tail off the rest of the year. Single peak is fairly normal for most athletes
