In terms of best of all time Pogacar has already cemented himself as the nr 1 of all time by a huge margin even - already. That part is already piss obvious (theres not a serious guy on this forum even who thinks Merckx is even half the climber Vingegaard is, nvm Pogacar who is many levels above that again or that Merckx would beat MvdP in Flandern) and as mentioned already a forgone conclusion within cycling and big profiles/legends/riders already saying it as the most obvious thing, every objective person would reach that conclusion and its already the case and happening right infront of our eyes. Its so special to witness this big part of history in real time and the guy is still 26 years old, its so rare.

In greatness terms indeed he is still young and need to add more longevity to match Merckx palmares theres no doubt about that but make no mistake theres never been a better rider than Pogacar in the history of the sport after this season, its undeniable.

He can't match Merckx greatness.

Merckx was more complete because he was not just a climber, puncheu, time trialist, but also a sprinter.

Besides that, he won Paris Roubaix. Pogacar never won Paris Roubaix.

He also won 7 MSR. Pogacar never won MSR.

This is true but he still needs palmares.

How much better he is than anyone and only will improve more only a big crash can stop him.

He wins at ease - even if some very few get mad about that or hate him cause their rider dont win or whatever reason its evidently clear he wins with ease after this season so it will take care of itself unless he crash and seriously hurt himself. Also for my taste winning now adds more value than winning back then but who cares its a pointless debate, their both alone at the top so only celebrate em both.

He already is the best and Merckx and him are both alone at the top echelon of this sport history so nothing but respect to both, and one is still active and only 26 and already by many cycling profiles/legends/top active riders being dubbed it already so then the rest speak for itself whats gonne happen - since he doing it in a era where result wice its not comparable.

I agree with you. Of course Pogacar was better than Merckx, this is not even a debate (at least for me).

And my view on the GOAT discussion:
Merckx was great rider and has better palmares than Pog (as of now), but everything can happen and I hope it will happen and in three years maybe we wouldn’t be so sure about it.

I totally agree with that. I think that Torres winning Vuelta next year is more possible than Nys winning Flèche. Nobody can compete with Pog in this race imo.

The only one I can imagine becoming another GOAT is Pablo Torres. Beating the Froome record on Finestre by few minutes is something big and unusual for 18 year old, but he is Pog teammate and will work for him in the next few years.
