I don't think we have credible science to back the claim that starting at the age of 10 would make a difference (except to descending skills!).
I agree. I mentioned the age of 10 simply to emphasize that this particular boy has been preparing for a professional career for a very long time. Since joining the world tour last year, he has incorporated the latest key elements into his training (altitude training camps, a very strict diet, breathing exercises, and other confidential but not illegal things IMHO...). And he's fortunate that his body responds so well to developing his extraordinary potential.

He is slower than Valverde and Alaphillippe, he is definitely cleans.

Seriously though, this is some insane progression that has no close precedent, I am actually shocked how the entire team took a massive leap after ditching AG2R and Lavenu

It could be the lack of 'morals' of the new owners and trainers compared to Lavenu.

The performance of all Decathlon cyclists is absurd considering they don't have impressive signings . If you look at it name by name, the team is far behind the rosters of other dominant teams, but their ratio is that of a team full of stars.

Anything that's team wide should make one suspect about it being a long term predictor of dominance.

Like after Itzulia I find it just so strange that this result has people shouting from the rooftops. Stage 2 in Itzulia was way more out there.

If Prince Paul is doping get a new doctor, was able to gap out from small sprint group in final few hundred meters..up your dose young man, get a better motor, hardly looked super human today.

Anyway, it's possible we're seeing Seixas' prime now, like Berzin in his early years, or Del Toro in 2025. I find it hard to imagine Decathlon getting more out of this squad; Lund Anderssen is a top sprinter now. Seixas might improve a bit due to his age, but I don't think he has room to grow with what Decathlon is currently providing him seeing Lund level. The level of the sprinters in these teams has always been a good indicator.
Decathlon's current form is comparable to the peak moments of other teams, only they have a worse roster and Prodhomme isn't going to win GT like Kuss.

Only Alaphilipe has a faster winner's time on the Mur.
And he did it from the front.

? Maybe we watched a different race, Seixias was part of a massive, curb to curb group with @1.5 k to go, at one point he had what looked like a Caja Rural rider next to him with less than 2 k out from the finish. I don't ever use specific climb times as a reference of any importance, all the kilometers, attacks before they arrived at the Mur are as or more significant in my opinion.
We have a guy in the US, Phil Giamon that has a bunch of YouTube videos of him trying to beat Strava records and race times on famous climbs, he only leaves out @100-200 k of hard racing before climb by some pro..so him being fresh is seldom mentioned, less frequently factored!!! Lol.
Seixas with good win, wasn't quite a field sprint but close. He had luck on his side that half dozen+ plus famous destroyers were not at the race..
Like I said, good win, underwhelming in my opinion..

Seixas and Del Toro are nowhere near their prime(s).

My theory is that last year we saw Del Toro's physical prime. He may improve in consistency with age, and his level, but his physical peak for his age was last year.

The next poster boy of cycling. French too. Someone who Prudhomme and Lappartient can get behind. Pogi’s days as the golden boy of cycling are numbered.

I’ve had a little look at social media and am heartened that so many of Tadej’s young fans seem to have suddenly developed a deep concern regarding the use of performance enhancing drugs in professional cycling, hopefully they keep us posted. 🙏
Nah, those are the exact same type of "analysts" we see accusing Pogi, the only difference is who they like more (or less).

But don’t get me wrong, I respect most opinions here (as long as they don’t involve imaginative motor theories). On the other hand, social media is a total dump, so you’ll find negative comments in pretty much every imaginable situation.

Just watched it. Impressive from Seixas, especially considering his age and the way he stayed cool and attack at the right time. But you know what folks, he’s no Pogi. He’s out of the saddle for starters, swinging that bike from side to side. Making a visible effort no less. No sign of artificial assistance at all. Breathing hard and sweaty at the end too, the shame of it. It’s all a bit much if you ask me.

Look the ultra dodgy thing about Seixas is that allegedly Macron is already working to keep him under French propaganda employ, and not the beating of a few pubcrawlers in Belgium.

Yeah, the president should stick to the subjects he's familiar with and cycling is not among them.
It's clear that moving to UAE and learning from the GOAT is the best for the youngster.
