Only Alaphilipe has a faster winner's time on the Mur.
And he did it from the front.
? Maybe we watched a different race, Seixias was part of a massive, curb to curb group with @1.5 k to go, at one point he had what looked like a Caja Rural rider next to him with less than 2 k out from the finish. I don't ever use specific climb times as a reference of any importance, all the kilometers, attacks before they arrived at the Mur are as or more significant in my opinion.
We have a guy in the US, Phil Giamon that has a bunch of YouTube videos of him trying to beat Strava records and race times on famous climbs, he only leaves out @100-200 k of hard racing before climb by some pro..so him being fresh is seldom mentioned, less frequently factored!!! Lol.
Seixas with good win, wasn't quite a field sprint but close. He had luck on his side that half dozen+ plus famous destroyers were not at the race..
Like I said, good win, underwhelming in my opinion..
