Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

About Pog and his possibilities to win PR - what did Eddy weigh when he won? It was discussed up thread about how being heavier helps with riding cobbles. I agree with that, especially when you see how big some of those cobbles are. So, who is the lightest rider to have won PR? Stuart O’Grady won in 2007 and according to Wiki his weight was 73Kg. Pog is 66Kg according to Wiki. I have no clue how accurate these weights are.

But Pog is Pog and he will decide what he wants. But as a fan I’d prefer he not risk a crash or injury at PR until he has two more TdFs, a Vuelta and maybe one more Giro win. Then go for it. But this is just me.

My biggest concern is if he tries to lead out molano for the sprints against the worlds best sprinters like he did in giro that's the only thing I don't like about him
Yeah, Pogacar needs excitement when he is racing and sometimes it is not a good thing. Doing a leadout for Molano is one of those things he shouldn't do, specially because Molano can't win a sprint even with a perfect leadout.

Danish Eurosport said right from UAE Tour - that M. Bjerg have said that the new bikes is a game changer and a true weapon. And the old bike was quite bad and was one of the worst in the pro peloton in the wind tunnel.
It was in terms of watt saving/aero which are quite ironic and a scary thought to be frank given all Pogacars solos last year..

Uphill you can launch earlier.

Like does this thread even understand the basics of aerodynamics?
Yes and no. Being in the wind matters less, but by the same metric you're going slower so 300m takes longer. Milan's all-out sprint was about 20s, after being led out by Pogacar for 10s, which is relatively long for a max effort. A flat 250m sprint takes normally like 12-13s, no?

More like 15-17 seconds.
Edit: you are right... I was thinking about an uphill sprint at 6% like we had today...
