Steal the show? C'mon, that is just another excuse for haters (I'm not saying you are one of them( to dislike him. He is a racer and what he did was probably planned since he wanted to train. He did the same in Catalunya last year.
I can definitely see he "kills" races because he is so much better and this dominance becomes boring for everyone bar Pogacar fans.
However, I go deeply in my mind and think, what Pogacar does is wrong? What can he do to not upset these people? Losing more frequently? He is a competitor, is part of his job to win races. Others have to step up and reach his level. So Pogacar is doing nothing wrong. He probably had already one or two moments of anger, annoyance but how many times he showed respect, kindness, happiness to riders, to fans, etc? Someone who says the truth all the time but lied one time in his lifetime can be considered a liar? Of course not, consistency is what characterize a person.
Pogacar, during his career, has been showing consistently a respectful, kind, lovable and nice personality. Don't get fooled by those who think he is like Armstrong, specially since those guys didn't see Armstrong racing and how he behave on and off the bike.
Why are you correct when you say he steals the spotlight from breakaway riders and why am I wrong in thinking what he did is great for entertainment? Who decides what is right and what is wrong?
For last but not least (and I don't know if you are including me), I criticized Pogacar in the first stage, he was cocky in sprinting too soon, thinking he would kill all sprinters. But I can't agree with you, Pellizzari said he was over the moon with Pogacar after receiving Pogi's jersey but who are you or anyone else to think it wasn't a nice gesture since Pellizzari himself was full of praise towards him.

Even without pog if a group forms from 150 km those guys will be favourites in every group they go and if it comes back to the favourites pog will be the favourite

I guess Pellizzari would be even more full of praise if Pogacar did the right thing and leave him win the stage.
Not to mention that Pogacar could benefit mich more in the long tern like a certain Contador did.
Point is, if we didn't win a (road) stage yet or needed the bonuses, or Pellizzari was from a rival team, or it was the queen stage, or... I would get it.
But attacking in the last KM to get a win you don't need from 21 years old kid from a small Italian team and then mask it with gifting him a jersey IS NOT a thing to be praised for, quite the opposite.
I am a fan of both riders, Pog more so. I don’t honestly think Remco was overhyped. I still look at the Lombardia crash and feel we will never see the best possible version of Remco. He was floating up the Sormano and looking very likely to win a monument at 20 then go to the Giro as favourite.
Of course nationality played into it as Belgium is arguably the most cycling mad country in the world and they had not had a GC prospect that good since the 70s.

I don't agree with you. It would be elegant if he gave the stage to Pellizzari however Pogi doesn't need to give anything to Pellizzari and for that reason this action was not rude (my opinion). They are not from the same team (and it was not sure Pellizzari would win the stage, Martinez was very close) and he just gifted his jersey because Pellizzari came to him, praising him for being his brother's idol. Pellizzari's brother asked him to talk with Pogacar and Pogacar decided to give his glasses and his jersey. It was a nice gesture but you are trying to convince people, it was a inconvenient action.

In what world giving a rider the chance to win a stage AND gifting him the jersey isn't better than attacking in the last km to win a stage you don't need?
However, I've got no issues with Pogacar winning the stage. He can win as much as he wants
My issue is with people praising him gifting his jersey as if it's he's the most generous rider ever, while in fact leaving Pellizzari to win the stage would be the actual thing that deserves praising.

I dont disagree about people should be able to criticize riders ,100% agree ofcourse they should.
But blaming Pogacar for not gifting stages to other teams, small teams or whatever, at that point its not serious to blame him for, this is a sport. One could say I would prefer it etc, that I would get but actually criticize him for not gifting stages, thats.. People could then could criticize him for not winning it, getting more prize money to everyone who works with him, which they share, at that point its impossible for him to do right, no?
He did a nice thing which he certaintly appriciated afterwords, is he the most generous rider ever? Certaintly not, hes a cannibal in reality. But Pellizari appriciated the gesture alot, he didnt need to do that even, I dont think its valid at all to criticize him for that of all things. People criticizing Pogacar for to much dominance I get, cause its more or less a race for second in every race he is in, in reality, its valid and understandable, its also subjective but complaining he win stages at that point its not serious, its up to everyone else to catch up to him collectively, not the other way around.

I got your point but I can't agree. Giving his jersey has nothing to do with stealing the stage win. It was just a gift for Pellizzari's brother.
How is giving credit to someone for a nice gesture a bad thing?

We don't know which one is true tbh.
And if it was PR, it worked well to be honest. People were praising him like God for doing that. Noone criticized like they did with Roglic in 2021.
Exactly, I dont really care for conspiracy theories about the motive.
It was just a kind gesture. There is nothing to really argue about.

Who developed Pogacar since he joined UAE in 2019 until 2022? Who developed him to be able to win the Tour?
Just crazy how every nice gesture could be now named " maybe it was PR stunt"? Of course we don't know but seeing everything like some "acting" would make me crazy.

You can't be serious. It bike RACING. The "right thing" for Pogacar is to win races. People need to stop whining about that. Nobody gifts wins anymore to non-teammates. Also, he gave him the shirt after Pellizzari asked for his glasses.
