I don't remember Vingo being that much smaller than pogi

Yup but Remco was really hyped in his youth. Belgian, decimated Junior Races, new Merckx. He didn't live to expectations. This thread is almost as popular as the Remco thread!
We just need MVP and Pogi to have stellar monuments. The Monuments have been stellar so far, and PR won’t be any worse I bet—on the contrary, it might even top them, considering there are more unknowns at least to what extent heading into Roubaix, beyond the usual PR lottery.
The new Merckx was waiting in the wings at the exact same momentYup but Remco was really hyped in his youth. Belgian, decimated Junior Races, new Merckx. He didn't live to expectations.
Of course I want Pog to smash all three remaining Monuments, but I’ll be perfectly satisfied with him taking LBL and Il Lombardia, as long as VDP doesn’t touch Roubaix. The Monuments have been stellar so far, and PR won’t be any worse I bet—on the contrary, it might even top them, considering there are more unknowns at least to what extent heading into Roubaix, beyond the usual PR lottery.
The real Merckx was flying under the radar. The new Merckx was waiting in the wings at the exact same moment
There is only one Merckx. There will never be another like him. The GOAT, the only one who was capable of winning everything, including PR and MSR.
Duh, if you're going by that, at least use a proper example.Merckx never won strade Bianche
Don't write stuff like this! Dreadful!Wiggans isn't ready quite yet. I lean more toward's wiggans thinking. If pogi died in a plane crash next week, we'd all only talk about the potential with endless debates about what might have been.
If Pog wins P-R and MSR, accumulating 12 GTs and 20 Monuments, will you say Pog is the GOAT?There is only one Merckx. There will never be another like him. The GOAT, the only one who was capable of winning everything, including PR and MSR.
Another unforgettable win for the GOAT!Man still pinching myself about that race yesterday. What a demolition
He completely broke MVP. In fact, he would gain almost 2 minutes if it was a mano a mano. MVP was going backwards on Kwaremont. Other thing very important to mention is how big was the gap in the end. His engine is really otherworldly.Man still pinching myself about that race yesterday. What a demolition
Yes.If Pog wins P-R and MSR, accumulating 12 GTs and 20 Monuments, will you say Pog is the GOAT?
I also believe he has a better chance of getting a strong result if it rains. Tadej is a phenomenon when it comes to positioning during the race, which I think is far more important in the first 200 km of Paris–Roubaix than pure bike handling—where he’s also on par with the rest (except maybe MvDP). And in the rain, this would be amplified even more. His race positioning is mentioned too rarely—just look at how poorly all his teammates performed at E3, Gent–Wevelgem, Dwars door Vlaanderen, and the Tour of Flanders—mainly because of bad positioning.Of course there are more chances of crashes in PR if it is wet. But I'm the only one to think, his chances are bigger in a wet PR? Attritional race, luck can be more on his side (or not), he really delivers in wet conditions. He may have a disadvantage in bike handling compared to MVP, but I believe he can compensate that with his superior engine.
I totally agree. Some people talk about how he is lucky but he is always in the front when the "actual race" starts.I also believe he has a better chance of getting a strong result if it rains.
