He should skip both Amstel and Fleche and only do LBL. He was cooked today and doesn't need to burn out before the Tour and Vuelta.
Yeah I think he would've been only around 5-10 seconds back without him getting the chain back and eventually changing his back at that moment.Where he was unlucky was the chain coming off when he had his mishap. Without that happening he would have got back to MVDP.
I was wondering too so i looked through the footage and i think it was already there before the crash. Probably happened when he brushed his team car. What was that red stain on Pogi's left wrist? He didn't seem bothered by it.
Fleche in good weather is a pretty easy stroll for the most part anyway. He should skip both Amstel and Fleche and only do LBL. He was cooked today and doesn't need to burn out before the Tour and Vuelta.
This will definitely make him hungrier to go for the win at PR. He was 2nd because of his mistake in that corner. There will be a "what if" of "What if I didn't crash?". He'll definitely be back next year.I'm very impressed, but not the least bit shocked that TP was able to do this well!
Congrats TP!
I wonder if this made him hungry for another go at PR, or if he is good now that he tried it?
I have to disagree here a LOT. He was 2nd because of his fearless attacking style, his engine and willpower. Most of the people that were dropped, he dropped them, including MVDP's teammate (Jasper p.). As for why he didn't win - because there was one man better than him on the day.He was 2nd because of his mistake in that corner.
Yup, he lost 20 seconds there. If he lost less than 10 seconds, he would caught MVPWhere he was unlucky was the chain coming off when he had his mishap. Without that happening he would have got back to MVDP.
Some minor adjustments and I am not sure he isn't putting MVP in the hurt locker too. MVP owes his win as much to Philipsen reinserting himself into the race, clawing back on equal terms to Ganna who totally collapsed. With Philipsen around, MVP had to do little work and no attacking. He could sit back and watch Pogi digging multiple times.I have to disagree here a LOT. He was 2nd because of his fearless attacking style, his engine and willpower. 100%. He went waaaaay deeper than he has in a long time. Even LBL can be challenging to sag and try to come back up to.He should skip both Amstel and Fleche and only do LBL. He was cooked today and doesn't need to burn out before the Tour and Vuelta.
He is getting closer in MSR. If nothing wrong happens with him, he will win MSR 2026.the crash didn't help but he's going to struggle to beat MVDP in classics without any climbs of substance. Maybe try this race again in a couple of years - same goes for milan san remo
He’s got to do a full monuments campaign every year going forward. You don’t know the opportunity unless you’re in itthe crash didn't help but he's going to struggle to beat MVDP in classics without any climbs of substance. Me too. The Ardennes treble is incredible and even Merckx couldn't make it.He still have almost a whole week to decide if to continue his schduele. Now it's focus on recovery. I'm gonna be shameless, I want to see him race all of his schdueled races.
In his post race he said: "maybe, I don't know." when asked about coming back. That doesn't sound like a guy who is hungry to come back. Granted he is hammered from a 5.5 hour race so...This will definitely make him hungrier to go for the win at PR. He was 2nd because of his mistake in that corner. There will be a "what if" of "What if I didn't crash?". He'll definitely be back next year.
Yeah, but at the same time, Merckx won 5 LBL, 2 FW, and 3 Amstel, besides the fact he won PR and MSR very soon in his career.Me too. The Ardennes treble is incredible and even Merckx couldn't make it.
GOAT showing nothing is impossible and that is what it is all about. He is getting closer in MSR. If nothing wrong happens with him, he will win MSR 2026.
Of course PR suits him. He was competitive in the cobbles of the Tour France, not surprising.GOAT showing nothing is impossible and that is what it is all about.
Even fighting for the win in races that doesnt suit him.
You can feel the relieve today but he will be back for more in PR and MSR.GOAT showing nothing is impossible and that is what it is all about.
Even fighting for the win in races that doesnt suit him.
Probably just smart to not commit. It is a year until the next race afterall and he also have to see how he recovers now before Ardennes this year.In his post race he said: "maybe, I don't know." when asked about coming back. That doesn't sound like a guy who is hungry to come back. Granted he is hammered from a 5.5 hour race so...
