Roglic is not attempting Giro-Tour, he is trying to win the Giro because he is too far behind Vingegaard and Pogacar. He had by far the best preparation last year and still was miles behind in every mountain/hilly stage.
You mean the Tour where he was crashed out by some douche' jumping a median...that one?
I recall him dieselling a serious climb, Pogi had dropped Jonas and Roglic went through Remco and Jonas on the descent. Not miles, not behind. Pogacar; that's a different story.

I agree he will be trying to win the Giro. If he's intact after that we'll see what Jonas can do for 3 weeks. Last time around he couldn't manage it. Remco is also in recovery mode and only the blind faithful will suggest he'll be fighting it out at this point in time.
Pogacar is dominant in not losing months of time to injuries. The rest of these guys have lost a season or two for recovery; so let's factor that into the fan's shallow reality of today's actual competitors.

Roglic is miles behind Jonas right now. Last year, he was dropped in a climb tailormade for him (San Luca). Galibier the same, gravel stage, etc. I'm not underestimating Roglic at all, he still is the third best GT rider in the world (even if Remco seemed stronger in the Tour) but there is a massive gap between Roglic and Vingegaard/Pogacar.

Three great tp races were in losses. Tragic and heroic all at once. 2023 WC, 2025 MSR. 2025 P-R

Also like the odd race where tp and Novak hide in bushes and charged back up on the peloton from behind
His participation in Glasgow was tough to watch. He was suffering to follow Pedersen and WVA in climbs, very far from his best shape. Maybe he was competitive only because it was raining a lot.

I think he's said as much early spring last year that he wished to win all of the historic 1 week stage races.
I didn't see him very convinced about it.
He said he still had to win San Remo, maybe try Roubaix, Vuelta and the World Championships. The interview was before Zurich.

The interviewer told him he hadn't won all the one-week tours either, and that's when he said it would be nice to win them. But initially, he didn't even remember them.
He doesn't seem to give it much thought.

Yeah, but what stood out (to me) from said interview was that he'd like to win them all... once.

Meaning that he made it pretty clear that he cares little to none about winning Paris-Nice or TdS twice, let alone more times.
He just would like to sign them off on his check list.
That says a lot.

He definitely doesn't feels that way when it comes to RVV and such.

Music to ving ears. At the end of a tiring classics season catching cold while sleeping with his fiancée is the one thing jumbo camp would dream at this moment in the hope it disrupts pogs prep

Better now than in 4 weeks. He is resting right now. In fact these are not bad news for Tadej. He will spend more time with his girlfriend.

I’d like to see him ride MSR- the Basque Country- LBL- Romandie-Giro- San Sebastian-Vuelta-the World Championships and Lombardia one year. I know there’s no real chance of that happening, but a season like that would be a great way to recharge the batteries.

Galibier was the stage he caught and dropped Jonas. The gravel stage he was way out of position but came back. Jonas' whole Tour was saved by sitting on the wheel of Jorgensen who could have gone with Pogacar, easily. This may rightfully not fit into your current view of either rider but have we seen form from either that puts them in a comparative state with Pogacar for a GT? Not close.

Rogla was dropped pretty hard on Galibier and San Luca and also couldn't keep up with them in the Massif Central. All before the two aliens even dropped their biggest watt bombs.
