Why people keep forgetting he won Volta ao Algarve? Thanks for sharing. This was the day I first noticed Pogacar - 20 years old. And he grabbed a podium finish at the Vuelta later that year. Nice to see LRP mixing it up.

Got it. You are joking.Of course i am saying that, isn't it obvious? But this is not what debate was about it was about superior recovery. And if you look at Rogličes schedule in terms of GTs and results in the last half a decade, considering other stage races, monument, all won on top of GTs and most season had 2 GTs in it, plus riding at least one more or less severely injured. If that doesn't account for superior recovery i don't know what does. Some of you forgot, on how dominant Rogla used to be through and through the season? I mean he still is, it's just that riders like Pogi and Jonas and partially Remco changes the rules of engagement. They got afraid of racing close with Rogla, mano-a-mano, and started initiating attacks tens of kilometres before the finish line. That didn't suit Rogla all that much, that much is true, but now he adapted to that and game on!
This is an interesting proposition BUT, we just had a similar debate in Rogličes thread and the overall sentiment is some people are not prepare to admit Rogla is better if he wins the Tour, regardless on how he does it, they are already hinting that their list of excuses is of colossal nature. Now in other threads, like the big 6 one, over there people in general are really hardliners, claiming on how basically there is only one divinity, maybe at best two, the rest is fat. So, first of all for something like that to work the other side will need to acknowledge Rogličes greatness first, after to admit Pogi, Jonas and Remco were beaten by superior rider if Rogla wins the Tour. Under such terms and condition maybe we can talk. Till then forget it, who are we kidding.
Now some of you might have time but others still have Giro to do, then to recover and to talk again, with legs.
Noone in peleton does pogi calendar for areason. There is footage of pogs training over 2k in nevada. He is flying, lmao.
I just hope for no crashes before Hautacam. Then, I can assure you Pogacar will put 1 and half minutes on Roglic

Do you really think an amateur following him for 30 seconds is any indicator of bad shape?Like that amateur cyclist in the video? Great, lets do that some time. Now sorry but stage 4 is about to start, some work to do!
Anyway, see you at the Tour, ski jumper vs. flying cyclists!

Are people really analysing a video where Pog has an amateur in his wheel for 30 seconds?
Really I thought I was the one who needed to touch some grass
Vincenzo Nibali once paid for my shawarma sandwich in my dreams. He didn't win the Tour that year. Maybe you're on to something.Last year Vingo was caught and bullied into photos by fat amateurs on Mallorca. Afterwards he lost the Tour. CN forum experts are simply looking for Pogi's signs of weakness. Nobody is better then them at this job.

Some context has to be added that he has never ridden Tour-Vuelta back to back riding all 21 stages in both races.Of course i am saying that, isn't it obvious? I like Roglic, but Contador and Froome have won more than one TDF. That makes their GT achievements more valuable. Some context has to be added that he has never ridden Tour-Vuelta back to back riding all 21 stages in both races.
2020 was the closest with an 18 stage slightly shortened Vuelta due to the Covid imposed loss of the foreign start. To be fair that Vuelta was probably peak Roglic with 4 stage wins and 3 2nd places as well.
The other Tour-Vuelta doubles were all after crashing out of TDF (2021,2022,2024) and the others were Giro-Vuelta doubles (2019,2023) but on neither occasion did he win both races.
His Grand Tour record is very impressive and bears comparison with Contador and Froome as GT GC specific 21st Century greats.
That said I don’t think you can say his recovery is on a par with Pogacar.
RedBull gives you wings. And Rogla was resting on Teide, gimme a break! Rogličes schedule was always on the heavy side in terms of recovery needed. Even now, aged 35. Anyway, see you at the Tour, ski jumper vs. flying cyclists!
I do agree but I think I would put Roglic over Nibali if he wins this Giro as the only thing Nibali has over him is the luck merchant 2014 TDF which ended up with a field comparable to that which Roglic beat in last years Vuelta.I like Roglic, but Contador and Froome have won more than one TDF. That makes their GT achievements more valuable.
Roglic is not a legend of this sport. Other 2 areI like Roglic, but Contador and Froome have won more than one TDF. That makes their GT achievements more valuable.
