Maybe they only did the change after the classics and are still making adjustments.

I'm also assuming that trainning on open roads, where there are cars and you can't ignore traffic rules, makes it hard to go all out, like he would do during the ITT. Maybe he felt it was a good enough setup during trainning.

Honestly, the strangest thing for me was seeing him drink in such a short effort.
He drank because it was a training ride and he was not pushing 100 %.

I think it was him not sprinting yesterday.
Didn’t he not sprint out of respect for mvp and the effort made to keep the green jersey? I thought Vingo attacking was just more visma spite for anyone else in the peloton. Like it’s a constant warfare

I think we need to pay attention to the standards of judgement we apply.
Anything that Pogi does is indicative of either arrogance, cockyness, lack of sportsmanship or the direct opposite. We could get playful and look for instances that are both not arrogant but cocky, or lack sportsmanship but are humble or whatever. It's just important that everyhing can mean the opposite and that we pair these opposits such that they make no sense.

It could just be a clinic specific honors code for Gilbert. Like you do you, just don’t behave arrogantly about the results.

Hence Bruyneels tweet

Yes, as long as "behave arrogantly" can also mean the opposite I fully agree.
I think we should embrace the opportunity and start talking about Pog in paradoxes. Pogacar, the Devilangel for example. Or the Destroyersaviour of Cycling.

I find it hard to believe that Pogi will spend the rest of his career riding only 1 GT per season - Hinault and Merckx usually rode 2. Any Pogi is currently well short of their GT totals - he won't be considered GOAT if he finishes with only 7 or 8 GTs

If Pogacar wins 6 Tours and manages to add 1 Vuelta, 1 Sanremo and 1 Roubaix to his palmares he will be considered the GOAT by most people.

Still, I believe that he will return to the Giro but only after reaching 5 or 6 Tour wins and he should be able to win that race towards the later part of his career.

The giro is a race he can’t hold into later in the career, imo. I think pogi will be competing until his mid 30’s (god willing) and save this talk about early retirement. But the giro is not a cakewalk. Don’t expect wins to appear here too much later

He just like the classics more than grand tours so I think he is more likely to chase them.
