If pogi wants the vuelta he’ll get it. I doubt Ayuso factors at all in the first line of decision making
They may have convinced him that another year would be better, but that's a mistake; it has to be this year.

In any case, the team has to make Pogacar see that this is the best year to do Tour-Vuelta. And the feeling is that they don't care so much because it solves the problem with Ayuso.

UAE has been operating this way for three years, since they signed so many aspiring leaders.

Hello there,

For me, it is not a big deal if he doesn't go to the Vuetla, mostly because it can make it very hard to win both WC's and Lombardia. In other words, if he doesn't go Vuelta and wins both WC'S and Lombardia, it's also perfect, i'd much rather he has again the world champion jersey (and go for the record), than winning vuelta right now.

As for the people disappointed for him not doing much over the last few days, i don't really see it that way. He has a big margin, he doesn't need to do much especially when stage win was no longer available both on Ventoux and today. Jonas is the solo responsible for having to attack, not him. Anyways, i feel Pogacar is going all in tomorrow for the stage win.

The same thing will happen the next two years with Lombardia and the World Championships. He can't wait three years. He could lose his level or have an accident.

Indurain, having postponed it for so long, retired without winning the Vuelta.

Pogis primary goals will always be 1. Monuments 2. Tour (his employers main goal 3. World championships. (Pogi’s real #2)

The world’s thing will be a problem for him. Maybe he’s hiding a level or two and we’ll see him at the vuelta. Hard to tell. Vingo does push the hell out of him at the tour on top of a difficult classics season

Whatever happens I am satisfied. It’s been a stellar season

I also prefer the World Championship, but winning the three GTs is a oblitation for someone like him, and he can't postpone it for three years until the sprinters' World Championship.

Winning the Vuelta after the Tour is very physically demanding. At 30, he might not be at that level.

In the Pogacar-Vingegaard battle, it would be a blow for Vingegaard to lose the Vuelta against Pogacar as well. With this year's Vuelta route and being at its peak, Pogacar can't afford to waste this opportunity.

Cruise control, but not as good as last year obviously. Still doubting himself probably after the crash and the illness, so main target was obviously just yellow jersey and didn't really care for the stage unfortunately. Didn't know how good Jonas was after Ventoux, played it safe even though in hindsight there was not need to. Tomorrow is the last day of the mountains, so expect UAE to try to control the entire stage for Pog to do an Isolo 2000 on La Plagne!

Mou says pogi out of the vuelta. Is exhausted mentally.
He says it as if it were an exclusive when a Spanish journalist said it this morning 🙄

Almeida and Ayuso's relationship at the Vuelta is going to be a disaster.

It's a mistake. If Pogacar wants to compete with Merckxs, he has to win two GTs a year in his prime. At least this year and next.
Eddy has 11 GT.

And as I said before, next year he won't go to the Vuelta because World Championship in Canada, and the following year because Sallanches

That guy is not a credible source. He's a nobody.
He said it hours after a Spanish journalist said it. I found it funny that he's responding as if it were an exclusive. If it were his exclusive, he would have said it before that journalist.

The fact that he hasn't said anything until now confirms that he had no idea.
Until today, he wasn't sure if Pogacar would go, but now he says he knows. As we all know, because Ayuso leaked it to the press of his country.

I think Pogacar is really missing Almeida this TdF. UAE doesn’t have the firepower to make the race hard and difficult from start to finish in a stage like the one they did today. Narvaez and Yates were cooked in the final climb, Visma guys even more so.

Almeida would have been a very significant factor in the final climb today.

Today was an important day for him.

Judging by this and by everything that happened this Tour and this season, I think the rumours about skipping the Vuelta due to mental fatigue might actually be true.
Think about this, he is already on a long season that started with the UAE Tour which I am sure he would have liked to skip, Strade where he fell so that sure wasn't easy, MSR + Flanders + PR where he fell again and I'm sure it was really hard and exhausting for him to go against MVDP, Ardennes which started again very exhausting with the defeat in Amstel and then Dauphine where the expectations were so high and now this crazy Tour where he had to face his best domestique retiring early in the race, a stupid but 100% annoying crash which we still don't know how much it affected him and a possible cold, all these on top of being pushed every day by Visma's tactics, which again, even himself called annoying.
If we also add the other comments that he made like "the route was made to scare me because they put all the climbs where I've been dropped by Vingegaard", "I am not SuperMan" etc., heck, even the story he posted yesterday with Urska, I am 100% sure he must really feel mentally exhausted and might want a break and to go fresh for Worlds and Lombardia.
We must all understand that he really is a human after all and look what happened with Vingegaard after he was really pushed by Visma last year, he literally broke in tears in Trine's arms after Pogacar crushed him at Isola and this year I am not sure that he is the same.
As others have said, I think the decision is 100% his and if he feels that he wants to skip the Vuelta, I would 100% understand that.
