The problem never will be time and place. The Vuelta will always be between the Tour and the World Championships.

The Sprinters' World Championship is in 2028.

At 30, it's not clear what shape he'll be in for the Tour-Vuelta.
So what.

This exactly what I meant about the obsessive nature of wanting him to tick off Vuelta NOW from some.

He gets one shot and it is NOW? Give me a break.

Yall putting way too much on it.

You say that because Roglic has 4. But he would trade 3 for 1 Tour
The classics are more pure cycling

He's already said he wouldn't.

Otherwise we have the same circular discussion where people try to argue that Bernal and G Thomas have had better careers and a better palmarès than Rog.

A race is a race. There are basically 10 major prizes in the cycling world every year: 5 monuments, 3 GT's & two world titles (with the worlds road race > the worlds ITT in terms of prestige).

But you can't tell me a rider who races Amstel and Flèche thinks the Vuelta would be beneath those races. No way.

Not that Pogacar should care what do his fans want, but the real question is would you want him to do the Vuelta?
If so when, and what do you (realistically) think he'll change in order to do it?

Because, honestly, NOW is as good of a chances as he'll ever get. All things considered.

I don't care at all about the Vuelta. But Pogacar is racing against history, and for that, it's going to be a must to have all three GTs. And the best time is now because completing the Tour-Vuelta is very physically demanding, and he can't wait until 2028.

WC TT is not a big race. Most of recent cycling fans don't know who is Michael Rogers and he was a record holder 20 years ago.

And what will he say?
He went to BORA for his last chance to lead the Tour and win it.
If he didn't care, he wouldn't have made the effort to start from scratch with another team at 35.

Pure cycling are the classics because they are raced without thinking about tomorrow; only the moment counts. No GT is pure cycling.

If you think he left Visma just for the Tour, think again.

It was time to move for various reasons. The Tour was just one of them. And Rog's focus on the Tour shouldn't be seen as solely about winning it, i.e. he wanted to 'race' the Tour. Doing that at Visma when Zeeman was basically saying 'No' was pretty much impossible.

I am just going off that information of what he said recently, which is also what I kind of predicted months ago would/should happen.

It doesnt seem likely if he is tired given that he has raced classics, short break to then start preparing for the Tour, Dauphine and then racing the Tour... that he would do the Vuelta. Take a break to recharge instead always felt likely, at least to me.

It doesnt seem like it would be a "good chance" if that is how he is feeling or thinking. He has had an amazing season.

They always maintained "Vuelta, we will see" so I dont think it has really been given he will do it.

As said, race lighter spring. Skip the cobbles as he did in 2024. Then Dauphine, Tour and Vuelta.

Or if he has bad luck in the Tour... he can go for Vuelta. How Roglic has won it all these times.

Like I say, I think some are just thinking way too much about it. It is not really complicated. When he goes, he goes. If not now, then some time in the future.

Lets wait for final decision this time.

I see your point towards his schedule. I had the same in February.
However, as I said, I don't think he'll have a better opportunity (all things considered) to do and win the Vuelta.
He is not skipping classics any time soon, he won't skip the Tour, so at this point he may NOT want to win the Vuelta at all. Not that I judge him.

I think he wants the Vuelta at some point, but he might not be chasing it at the moment.

I don't understand anything, gifting another stage to Arensman just because he again couldn't drop Vingegaard ?
14 km alone too much. Tour + 4 stages.

The questions must be asked of Vingegaard. He'll emerge as a moral winner, just like he did throughout the Tour. LOL

Pogacar was humiliated in Hautacam 2022 on the final day of the mountains for going all in. Vingegaard is content that Pogacar didn't win a stage. The difference
