MVP has done 10th in Lombardia
Which is commendable but needs a big asterisk of it being Covid year and 95% of the field were those doing the Giro.

Pogacar/Roglic/Valverde/Alaphillipe etc all not there as doing the TDF schedule with the Covid bubble situation.

MVP will never win LBL or GdL. It's out of reach for him.

Next year, maybe he will race again ECRR

I'm already surprised he's doing it this year. I suppose he did it because of the difficult schedule with Canada and Rwanda travels. But I don't think he'll do another European Championship , even if it's in Slovenia.

We'll see what happens with the Vuelta. He'll have to do it some year.

He is doing this year because it's perfect for him and close to his home and Lombardy.

Del Toro has positioning problems. He had that problem again at Mont Kigali.
And he still raises doubts when the race is too long.

For me, the most important has to be Narvaez. Before him, anyone who positions well is more important than a climber who doesn't position well.
Absolutely ridiculous. Tadej and Isaac trained all week together in Kigali for exactly the outcome you saw.
Team Mexico was underwhelming, they sacrificed all for first third of the race so Del Toro was hydrated, gelled and ready for his planned move,
Pogacar's posse posted up perfectly to pull the trigger on the plan. The player that didn't play out was second year Del Toro that couldn't trade time with Pogacar.
Del Toro did too much too soon, too hard, too fast with the GOAT.
The distance and speed was too much for second year pro, Del Toro.. as was to be expected.
Del Toro was positioned perfectly but came up short of depth and horsepower compared to best rider on earth.
Del Toro should have sucked wheel and said straight, pull me for 5+ kilometers and I can contribute @20-30%..not 50..it was an obvious mistake and when Del Toro rode with regulars he got 7th. So he can take turns with regular racers. As results show.
.he was never a rival or equal to Tadej and when he rode over his head it cost him a silver medal..
Two major races, two major F-ups..he lost Giro from a mistake of experience and lost a silver from another mistake of misguided efforts. Del Toro's sophomoric overconfidence cost him,
At @12:45 in the video the two podcasters are puzzled by Del Toro and give some likely explanation for his behavior.

Yeah, because Roglic was so crucial for the 2 WC's.
How much did he do? 200 meters last year and 2 meters this year?*

*No, I don't blame him. I'm saying that with or without him, it's kinda the same
He didn't do anything to be honest so you are probably right.

But I doubt it'll be the same next year. I don't think it'll be an important race for him, especially now that he just won the world championship.
Since Sunday I think he's only been thinking about Lombardia record and going on vacation.

If Mohoric were in shape, he´d try to help him win on Sunday, but he won't be able to overcome those climbs among the best.

Next year, I doubt he'll repeat the European Championship.

He wasn't thinking in Emilia last year and he won it.

In a short race, I think the weaker team will be more noticeable.
There will be more movement and many riders who fail at long distances will be better at 200 kilometer race.

On the Paris stage, apart from being exhausted, he had to cover Jorgenson and Van Aert attacks. Apart being at his limit that week of the Tour, that was what finished his options.

No one said he could win. Only you are saying he can't
The best strategy for UAE is to buy MVP. Pogi will lead MSR & Roubaix while MVP will lead Flandres & Liege.

Not to mention Lombardia.
I just responded MVP couldn't win GdL even without Pogacar because Miss Violet said "Not to mention Lombardia". So even if Pog and MVP were teammates and Pog helped MVP in GdL, he couldn't win it.

Zero chance in Lombardy. Liege would be difficult because a few guys can distance him enough (not only Evenepoel).

I took a quick look on Sunday and I expect him to attack with 77 km to the finish. He will probably gain a full minute just on the big climb and then chill for 70 km.

He will attack with VinGo and the Dane (refilled with love) will surprise him during the sprint. By the end of the main climb Remco will have realized he's riding on Merckx's 20 kilo bike and will retire immediately kicking a spectator.

I know you are kidding but I think Vingegaard is already on vacations mode and will be dropped by 5/10 riders.

Probably. I can't imagine Vingo being that good 3 weeks after completing an exhaustive GT double. Some decompression must have occured and too little time to rebuild top form.

I didn't know Remco was a fan of Eric Cantona.

Looking at the PCS updates lots of riders are avoiding Pogacar. Beyond Remco and Jonas the field lacks a lot of depth whilst the field for Emilia is absolutely stacked with riders from the 2nd/3rd tiers looking to claim a notable win.

There won’t be that many viable riders to cover even with the shorter distance and duration being more palatable for many riders.
