They will think about stages and moments that could be decisive.

As said, I havent looked at the route and know every detail.

If this is a viable and smart choice, given what other stages can provide.

But doing a long ranger just sounds more like a wish, as of now, rather than the smartest strategy.
Ohh okay. When I look at that stage 6 profile, I just can't think of anything other than a Pogacar long-ranger from Tourmalet. Especially since it's the only big mountain stage in the first week and next big mountain stage after that is on stage 14.

Feel free to look at the route in detail when you can.

Doing a long range attack on Tourmalet, it is clearly the best option. Try to end the Tour as soon as possible. For some reason Vingegaard tried the same 2 years ago and it was on stage 6 too.
Stages 7 and 8 are flat stages so it's an easy decision to go all in on Tourmalet specially when you have a team able to destroy the field on Aspin and in the first half of Tourmalet.
Pogacar will probably realize this and will attack. He can go in cruise control until stage 15 (without even attacking on stage 11).

I understand that point, but also how smart is it to do a long ranger on stage 6? I just dont know, but they will think about it. They will weigh their options.

But if someone can pull it off, it would be Pog.

A nice tdf course for pogi as always but uae have to mix it up with their squad next year. With the TTT & also polit & sivakov being average this year + soler somehow always holding his best legs for his home race vuelta the team needs a refresh. Imo the team should look like this:
Pog, Almeida, Vine, Yates, Narvaez, Mcnulty, Wellens & Vermeersch
Politt and Soler are locked. Soler born in Barcelona, stage 2 will go to his home town. Pogacar likes him so easy decision.
Politt is Pogacar's body guard. He will be there too.
But I agree with you, they should mix a little bit.

Its a bad take, to say thats why they would be in the team.

Pollit is the best they have for the flat and he is very experienced.

Soler is very useful for the mountains and can ride the flat in the valleys. Can consistently make it back on descents to keep being helpful. Or go in the break. Ton of experience at this point and so many GTs under his belt.

Sivakov will for the same purpose most likely be a part of the team. Just a very good and strong dom.

I really dont see much happening regarding Pogs Tour team and who will be going. It makes no sense to really change anything.

The only part changing might be Del Toro instead of Almeida. We will see.

I think the biggest pieces will have to be laid first. Does Pogi plan to ride the Vuelta or not? If not, who should lead the team in the Vuelta? After the Giro, will Almeida aim for a podium in the Tour or rather go for the Vuelta? Will Del Toro ride one or two GTs, and will he be happy to share leadership with Almeida in the Giro?
