Some people must have short memory. This race without Pogacar is one of the worst races in the calendar. 6 hours of nothing and 15 minutes of action.

The crash wasnt ideal, but it did make the peloton smaller and so on.

It never really plays out how one thought it would even though the outcome of it being Pog, Pidcock and MVDP going over the top of Cipressa together was a plausible scenario.

What I take from this edition is Pogacar would demolish MVP last year if he was well positioned like MVP. This year MVP wasn't in the front and was cooked.

I dont believe one can say that or that I can agree with that.

The main difference was Pog just riding the climbs in higher sustained pace for longer, rather than doing 5-6 accelerations imo. He gassed himself doing that last year. It was less stop and go now.

His descending and making them hard after each corner was a difference as well.

There are many things that were different imo.

Regarding his team work, what a fantastic job from McNulty. He will do wonders in LBL and the Tour.

He needed to go hard before Cipressa because he was also caught by the crash. He could not save enough energy for later.

Nuggets was an absolute demon and gonne be this year btw, what a ride for Pog there. Christen was also a super super dom work for Del Toro on the last stage of Tirreno hope hes okei.

Crash, 30sec behind in full speed run in. Close the gap with mentioned rider + florian, sets KOM. Gaps MvdP on 4%, i bet Mvdp cant wait for RVV now..Tonight we raise our wine glass for the best rider ever. Absolute cinema.

1. Great win, i think i saw him so happy only after first RVV win and first WC win. 2. I am humbled because of Mcnulty, i was never a fan, no he is my second favourite rider. 3. Pogi still crashed, i wouldn't be so sure RVV is already sure thing. 4. Him never coming back to MSR would be disaster for this race. From best race in the year to boring one again.
