Yeah, maybe. We still need to see how good is his punch. Remco is the second best in AGR and LBL but he is human in FW.Open race: Seixas will ride it.

I'm still dreaming of that seated watt bomb. He made them look like standing still. He should enter the competition to give the french wonderboy a foretaste of what's to come. When it comes to our dear forum experts, Pogi smashing the rest with his seated acceleration is not what the doctor ordered! Last minute entry can't be ruled out though.
Seixas has been far superior to them in the Itzulia climbs.Pidcock is coming back from injury. Trentino is just for the miles.
It's good that Pogi gives this a miss. Opens up an opportunity for the likels of Lenny, Skjelmose, Vauquelin etc.

right decision, he has to start preparing for long climbs at some point, he has focused on classic training so far, he needed at least a couple of weeks considering that after lbl he will go immediately to romandieConfirmed, he's not going to FW. Very disappointing decision.
He has only competed for 4 days and FW is a hill sprint, he doesn't need preparation. He could use FW to get some preparation mileage.right decision, he has to start preparing for long climbs at some point, he has focused on classic training so far, he needed at least a couple of weeks considering that after lbl he will go immediately to romandie
the point is that before roubaix he could never really do a block of training specifically focused on long climbs, if he did FW even these 2 weeks of preparation for long climbs would have been disrupted completely. The problem is not lipowitz in romandie, the goal for him is to start preparing for the tour de franceHe has only competed for 4 days and FW is a hill sprint, he doesn't need preparation. I don't think his victory in Romandie against Lipowitz was compromised by that.
His absence made sense to give Del Toro a chance, since he'll be his domestique in the Tour, but Cosnefroy? Races of this caliber shouldn't be dismissed.
FW is a race that serves as preparation and doesn´t compromise his training.the point is that before roubaix he could never really do a block of training specifically focused on long climbs, if he did FW even these 2 weeks of preparation for long climbs would have been disrupted completely. no it does not serve for preparation of long climbs, do you see a 12 km at 8% climb you might find at the tour? and yes it creates problems for training, because you loose tre days (the race day, one where you travel and one for the recon). He has 2 weeks after roubaix, that's the bare minimum for a rider who has to start thinking about long climbs and the tour.FW is a race that serves as preparation and doesn´t compromise his training.
Pogacar has been seen training with Urska, not exactly in high mountains.no it does not serve for preparation of long climbs, do you see a 12 km at 8% climb you might find at the tour? and yes it creates problems for training, because you loose tre days (the race day, one where you travel and one for the recon). And what would he get in exchange? a win at fleche this year adds nothing to his season or his career
this is what he has starting to work on after roubaix, sustained efforts on long climbs at altitude (above 2000m)
there are multiple videos of him training on the tt bike on la turbie (similar profile to the climb they will do at the tour in the tt) and also of him training on the high mountainsPogacar has been seen training with Urska, not exactly in high mountains.
But do you really see that as incompatible with going to FW one day to do a hill sprint?there are multiple videos of him training on the tt bike on la turbie (similar profile to the climb they will do at the tour in the tt) and also of him training on the high mountains
it's from yesterday. Not incompatible? how can he train on long climbs in the alps above 2000m and also be in belgium at the same time?Is that recent? He was with his girlfriend in France yesterday. Even so, I still don't see it as incompatible with FW. Such a lack of competition can only be explained by the Vuelta.
Cosnefroy is my favorite for Fleche wallone. His absence could have been justified to give the lead to Del Toro who will be his domestique at TdF. But with Del Toro injured, he should go to this race as preparation for Liège. It's absurd not to go just to give the lead to Cosnefroy, who just arrived to his team. He has only competed for four days, and this race is far too easy despite its historical prestige. Best riders shouldn't wasting these opportunities.
I already think it's an offense that Pidcock isn't there. Even if he's not in great form, this race should always be prioritized over the Tour of the Alps.
Pidcock isn't there due to injury. I'm pretty sure he isn't in shape right now.His absence could have been justified to give the lead to Del Toro who will be his domestique at TdF. What climb is he climbing? I know he is doing some TdF recons while his gf was racing. Is that recent? He was with his girlfriend in France yesterday. Even so, I still don't see it as incompatible with FW. Such a lack of competition can only be explained by the Vuelta.
Last year, he made the switch quite fast.it's from yesterday. Not incompatible? how can he train on long climbs in the alps above 2000m and also be in belgium at the same time?
The guy has trained specifically for races like MSR, flanders and PR since now, 2 weeks is the bare minimum after roubaix to start preparing for long climbs and TT and that's exactly what he has been doing
Above Seixas?Cosnefroy is my favorite for Fleche wallone.
ofc he can do the switch fast but he still needs some time, last year after liege he immediately went to sierra nevada on altitude camp, this year he can't do that because he has romandie, so I can see why he decided to have 2 weeks between PR and liege where he started training for the tour with some long climbs, recons and TT trainingLast year, he made the switch quite fast.
FW does not qualify for the most important races (those are monuments, WCs, GTs, olympics plus in the case of pog SB because he really likes it). Pogacar doesn't go to FW because he believes it's best for his preparation going forward, it has nothing to do with cosnefroyAbove Seixas?
It doesn't matter, that's not the point. The best cyclists should go to the most important races, not depend on the wishes of their teammates. Those kinds of concessions are understandable for teammates who have to work at TDF like Del Toro; Pogacar doesn't owe Cosnefroy anything.
