I think you are too dramatic, but I also understand your dislike. I'd watch in any case, whatever happens. I can't stand VDP so I prefer if he gets beaten and the only one capable of is Pog

Fewer people watching means less sponsorship, fewer teams, less racing being broadcast, fewer races: not sure how that is to be hoped for no matter what rider you prefer.

Teams and money dustribution need a huge overhaul as well. Current model is outdated. So i would not mind if they started feeling the pain as reult of bad management from the uci on all accounts.

That loss of revenue might force a rethinking from the UCI. Short of scandal, which is how they’re managing the issue, it seems unlikely.

Cause more people watching , or a status quo in viewership would mean nothing changes.
It's only when they are practically forced to change that they change.

mind you some crazy billionaire who sets up an alternative calender or buys out races and moves independently may kick UCI behind in a frenzy as well. Ultimately UCI will reign supreme. But just like the ABA forced the NBA to do better, same could apply to the UCI.

is there really fewer people watching? did you see the crowds at Strade Bianche? I mean, Pog and Strade/Sanremo/Roubaix reach the big public, not just us fans here analyzing the race moves and watts. I too wished he could get caught on Saturday or I'll wish he loses the TDF (but I wish he beats VDP in Sanremo-Roubaix)

Watching the race along the route is different than watching it on television. My family likes being in that crowd too, for the atmosphere and the excitement of seeing the riders up close, but they almost never watch a race on television. People who watch in on television get bored these days. I guessed that he would attack 80 km out and when that actually happened I didn't watch the race anymore. I briefly checked the battle for second a few km from the finish. So I assume actual time watched is at risk of going down even if a similar number as before are still watching it briefly.

Yes they track it. They can tell when you turned on, off, how often you visit the channel, the subject. They have algorithms that steer content to you based on what you watched within the program. So if Seixas is sucking and you tune out, they know, if Seixas is successful and you watch until the end, they know, and they know if you prefer your Seixas in the morning, afternoon or evenings..

It's very unlikely he wins both so you won't stop watching. MSR could be pain in the *** for Pogacar for his whole career. As for Roubaix it's attritional race with some random events: Pog has great engine and could win at some point (he may even focus more on it more in the coming years and add more kgs).
