Teams and money dustribution need a huge overhaul as well. Current model is outdated. So i would not mind if they started feeling the pain as reult of bad management from the uci on all accounts.
So how would fewer people watching, a hope you expressed, benefit the sport?
Watching the race along the route is different than watching it on television. My family likes being in that crowd too, for the atmosphere and the excitement of seeing the riders up close, but they almost never watch a race on television. People who watch in on television get bored these days. I guessed that he would attack 80 km out and when that actually happened I didn't watch the race anymore. I briefly checked the battle for second a few km from the finish. So I assume actual time watched is at risk of going down even if a similar number as before are still watching it briefly.
I wonder if the stream broadcasters track stuff like how long/when during the race people watch and not just pure numbers. When it was clear that Seixas wasn't closing the gap, I switched off and went and did something else. And I guess a few others did so as well.
Yes they track it. They can tell when you turned on, off, how often you visit the channel, the subject. They have algorithms that steer content to you based on what you watched within the program. So if Seixas is sucking and you tune out, they know, if Seixas is successful and you watch until the end, they know, and they know if you prefer your Seixas in the morning, afternoon or evenings..
Perhaps, but I gave up watching for about 20 years around the time of the Festina scandal so not altogether impossible I'll do it again.
Notice that list of names required to have a small chance. it's absurd. I understand someone standing atop the pyramid.
