Correct. He needs to drop Valverde tomorrow if he wants the podium. Plain and simple. I think he can handle Bardet but not Valverde.the_cutter said:From various comments I gather that Pinot is weakest in the TT? How bad exactly? He needs to try something tomorrow, 'cause a podium might just slip away.

It would be hard but doable. Need to focus on Valverde only starting in the Tourmalet.the_cutter said:Looking at the time differences, this looks very bad for Pinot. I think Peraud has the 2nd place almost in the bag. And Valverde has still 30+ seconds, a strong team and is a better TTist. I don't think Hautacam alone will be enough. Pinot/FDJ needs to cook Valverde at least a little on the Tourmalet. But I don't think Valverde will panic, he's too experienced and his team too strong. Oh well, still plenty of time for the young guns in the years to come. And the fight for the white jersey between them has been fun to watch.
